Maybe the XEDE tickle is upsetting the long term fuel trims.....
-
Bottom line is the latest Generic tunes are very good, and most of the custom tuners out there simply tweak them a few percent to get the most out of the car...I know, I develop them on the dyno and then send them out However the tuner that wouldnt find the leak? Who was it?
-
How about Adam (who has done great work so far) makes it a sticky in a separate locked post, and just keeps updating it? Ya?
-
Support is a tricky one. I spend at least half the working week answering questions from dealers as it is, so supporting the general public with a help line probably wont happen. Instead we will supply detailed manuals and a forum - which I will post on as well - to answer any questions.

Home Tuners in general can and will blow up engines if they dont know what they are doing. However its not our duty to assess each and every customer with an individual aptitude test before handing over the product. We sell a tool. If they need the tool, they can buy it. What I really need to know is the level of functionality you need to see in the software. Lets get a Mod in here and make an ever expanding single post of exactly what it is you guys would want to be modifying... The list can be found here... Home Tuner Package, Features We Want Included In It Cheers, Adam. :banghead:

Two weeks? Maybe a bit longer... But the bottom line is we have listened to the 'demographic' and have been working on an affordable 'Home Tuner' version of our tuning software so you can roll up the sleeves, and get into your own software if so desired :banghead: Will have some functionality lists up shortly (less than Two weeks) Lets hear what the tribe thinks!

At this stage the Advantage product has been supported via training courses that require one on one attendance, detailed instruction/tuning manuals and of course a technical help line for any issues the need our immediate attention. Obviously the variety of the feedback isnt as diverse as a forum, but the accuracy of response is far greater.

2006 Australian Production Car Championship
Street Tuner replied to xr6_prod's topic in General Automotive Talk
That is not correct. I have used both systems extensively, and the Ford system from a tuning point of view is far more engine specific and several times more advanced than any aftermarket 'one size fits all' management system. The main advantage of the Motec is its on board motorsport based data logging. Which such a power and hardware limit in production I really question the relevance of detailed engine logging. Each to their own A fully optimised 8psi map with complete compensations PID boost control, and indepedent camshaft control for a BF would more than likely take us under an hour, starting from scratch, with a blank PCM. -
Eugene, The new CAPA data logger can be used on any AU onwards Ford product. Doesnt matter whether it has been 'Edited' or not as the data stream coming out the OBDII interface remains the same. What you will see though is a lot of screwy values if you use it on a 'Piggypoop' equipped engine. Remember when you are tricking the inputs going into the engine it stuffs a heap on the processors internal calculations, hence it will give some odd looking outputs. In fact looking at the data stream and having reference to the torque source, spark source, and fuel source for the engine will give you a very clear idea why piggyback tuning has never produced a fast T. Plenty of hours fun scraping the data, that's for sure! The data logger is a pass through interface, so it will log all day as long as you have it hooked up to a laptop and have enough hard drive and memory space

The good news is the stock T intercooler is such a high performance device, and at 1800kg best described as athletic (tongue in cheek time). Falcon and Territory both have the same problem. Good news is it wont have the 0 - 3000rpm lag of a conventional 'T' and with a downsized turbocharger should be more efficient in the 250 - 300awkw range...which is where mine will be spending its operating life That goes for most any domestic Ford product. You bet

Even easier and cheaper is to trace the compressor discharge to throttle body tract and find the leak. You can do this in your driveway......
-
Rubbish the F6 Typhoon and Tornado DO HAVE MORE COMMANDED BOOST in the programming
-
You got a leaky car champ Check everything including the turbo bolts, manifold falling off etc. Not pretty, but these cars can and will have issues...
-
Sounds to me like he bought the box direct from CAPA, which at $995 with three tunes is pretty good value! How are you finding the 10psi map?
-
What tunes do you have?
-
It generally means you attempted to start the tune procedure with the ignition key already turned on, rather than getting all three leds flashing and then turning the key on.

ASE Intercooler is Tube and Fin core by ADRAD

The BF 6 speed has exactly the same rev limiter as the BA 4 speed auto, just the injector hard cut is 100rpm higher at 6350rpm. Throttle based engine speed limit is still 6000rpm The last thing we need is myths and legends about transient rev limiters in BF Falcons....
-
As I stated in the PM. Get on an American forum to find the good hardware. We have the software....
-
In short the answer is 'Yes'
-
What broke in your engine F6?
-
Yes, a place called CAPA .... www.capa.com.au
-
There is obviously more to this than meets the eye. Better wait for Vonny to respond?
-
Nothing to stop you doing that now....

Well obviously Adam this is an area of genuine concern. Tuning an engine is not a job for the faint hearted or inexperienced, and a turbocharged four litre engine with VCT and electronic boost control is possibly not the best learners experimentation piece.
