  1. Unfortunately, if they lock it you will be stuck. I have heard of customer having to buy a new ECU. I suggest you ask your tuner, if he locks it? and see if your are ok with that. Some workshops think there tuning is their intellectually property.
  2. Yes, no boxes required. The cost will be just for the dyno/tune time and 2 credits ($100 US)to license your vin.
  3. If you use HP Tune, you can save your std tune as a bin file, on your pc, and then create a modify tune and load (flash) the ECU. Note: the ECU has flash memory just like your USB flash drive. So you are reflashing the internal memory of the ECU with the tune (program).
  4. 1 Bullet equals 1 VIN and you can re-tune that VIN as many times as you like. The VCM scanner is a tool, software and cable, to scan variables that you select eg kph, MAP, BAR, RPM etc and it comes with memory so you can record up to 45mins and then download your file to a PC or you can real time monitor and record. Its available seperately or bundled with the HP Editor (software to tune the car). With HP Tuners Edit it is like having the Advantage software and you can trial changing parameters to suit the individual car. Correct, not yet. Which tables does it not have?
  5. As you see the competition will bring the price down as it was only a year ago we where paying 1K for a CAPA box. With VCM suite every tune becomes custom and you can modify each of your base lines as you make changes to your car plus you get the scanner where you can log your car on the dyno or road! Also this tools opens up the ECU for the home tuner who wants to do his own calibrations. Cheers, Joe
  6. Brian, HP Tuners are owned by VCM Suite so it is not my product. The banned link only states that VCM suite has released Beta software that will..... It gives us great pleasure to announce VCM Suite is now entering the beta phase for Aussie Ford vehicles with release 2.23. Supported Vehicles: We are announcing support for BA-FG Falcon I6, I6 Turbo and V8 models from 2002 to 2008. Territory using the same engine/PCM combinations as Falcon will also be supported but we haven't done any testing for Territory yet. Licences: Available licenses are: - Single Vehicle (4 credits) - Generic Year (30 credits) Due to limitations of the Aussie Ford PCMs the generic year license encompasses all Aussie Ford vehicles for that particular year (vehicles we support). The HP Tuners Team Importantly, it gives the same interface and feel that existing users would be familiar with. Cheers, Joe
  7. FYI, Australian Ford Beta begins! This will be interesting to see how it goes.

  9. Is there anybody out there? If I buy the software I get the standard tunes for each Ford model, with Advantage III I can then modify the settings and via a SCT/CAPA box then load it via the ODBII port. Quite clever, this way you can protect the custom tunes being developed by other Tuners as you cannot read the Tune in the car. Beware if you change Tuners they will have to re-invent the wheel (Tune)! So back to my original question: If you want to take on the LS1 world (maybe you dont) you will need to get a forum to discuss tuning. Otherwise, a few Tuners will have all the information and quite rightly protect there investment $$$. However, this approach will limit the appeal to Ford customers as they will have limited choice and be locked into the original Tuner. As custom tuning of Ford vehicles take off this will become an bigger issue. I wonder if this will get a reply?
  10. Is the Advantage sw different to the USA one? Where do we get online forum support if you purchase the software?
  11. Yeh it sounds excessive but other than selling the ute with a noisey box & lossing near $4000 on the lease payout it was the only option. The T5 was only rebuilt less than 1000km before it started singing at me in 1st 2nd & 3rd. Costing goes as follows T56 new; $5500 inc gst Crossmember;$37 inc gst Mount;$52 inc gst Gearbox flange drive;$137 inc gst Extreme Single plate Clutch;$450 inc gst Labor;$100 +carton extra Dry <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I got this reply form Ford Raceparts as I thought they could do a good price on the T56. ____________________________________________________________________ We don't keep the gearbox in stock, but we can get one from Ford Racing in the USA. It is not listed specifically for the XR6 Turbo, but it is a T56 used in the Mustangs. If you wanted more info on the gearbox, the part number is M-7003-F. Go to this link, www.fordracingparts.com and type in the part number as it is written and it will give you all the gear ratios and other specs. Cost of the unit is $4635 inc GST. Approx 6-8 weeks to get in from the USA. Thanks Troy ____________________________________________________________________ I hope this does not contravene any forum rules. rgds, Joe
