    Update: engine build complete.

     

    Went JE pistons with upgraded wrist pins. Howards billet rods. Should be good for 1200hp.

    Will take a little while. I think the shop won't install the engine for another month. Getting the engine bay painted and tidied up. Then they want to do a 1000km run in before sending. Which works well, because I need to bed that clutch in...

    What made you go with the howards rods? Ive got a set in my built sohc bit worried about breaking them when I turn it up past 1100hp after a mate has broken one. You got any plans for a bigger then the g35-900 in future?

    My engine builder is a fan of US made stuff, and Howards seem to have a rep for being well finished billet steel rods.

    Was originally going to get Carillo rods, but there was a 4 month wait on those. Looked at Nitto, but the Howards are significantly cheaper. 

    The G35-900 will only make 600rwkw absolute max, so I'll be well within safety margins. Not interested in massive turbos
