August 27, 20188 yr #51 Did you pay for it to be taken or did you get a scrap metal place to actually pay for it instead of stooging you?
August 27, 20188 yr #52 Author Didn't get paid, but finally found a place that wouldn't charge to take it.
August 28, 20188 yr #54 Author Wasn't entirely free - this was the state of my axle stands afterwards. I assumed they would put some sort of dolly under the rear, but they obviously just backed up, hooked up the winch and dragged it.
August 28, 20188 yr #56 Author Oh well, the ratchets on these were really annoying so picked up some dual pin ones this morning. Not the sort of thing you want to cheap out on!
March 8, 20242 yr #59 Author Why did you scrap it ?Maths really. I wasn't convinced that car was a long termer for me. Was worth about $5k back then, $3.5k to fix it, best offer I got with it broken was $3k.Parted it for almost $7kFG is behaving itself nicely. Just drove it to the coast over the mountains. New rear end feels great. And just put DBA extreme performance pads at all four corners and they seem excellent. Definitely dustier than the street performance though.
