Hi guys new to the forum. I've been wondering how to connected up a oil catch can to my xr6t, I just tried to put up a pic but cant seem to post 1 so is there any out there that can help. Thanks

A catch can is there to filter oil from the crank case gas as it is returned to the intake. It can also catch oil and return it to the sump in a racing application.

 

Without being too picky, that diagram shows the right connection but it looks like that nob on top could indicate a filter which would be moot if the catch can is connected to the intake.

 

Edit: You need to connect the rear vent too otherwise the motor will still be sucking in crankcase gas.

I seen a catch can with a filter on top so yes that's what it is. lol. Its my drawing skills, thanks for the info puffwagon.

If you weren't returning it to the intake then you would have a filter on top to let the crankcase pressure escape. It's not a lot of pressure in a road car but it would probably pop your dipstick out if it wasn't relieved.

Or the rear main seal if your smashing boost.

Haha yeah you could pop all sorts of seals or gaskets with a ton of blowby.

Heres some pictures of my install mate. Spot on with that piece of artwork. No breather on top of catch can so is plumbed into my intake. I ripped my breather hose so mickey moused something at home
