Feel gauges don't keep the electrode earth bar square to the the electrode, gapping pliers do.

If you go down the NGK path you can normally by pre gapped .8 instead of the 1.1. Not saying the gapping at the factory is always that accurate but its close.

Iridium/platinum plugs are overrated, they're all copper cored anyway, the only benefit is that they last longer

But for $16 and lasting 3 times longer than your standard plugs, time/effort in changing plugs 3 times compared to once, I know what I chose, just my opinion though

Labour/time is moot as you should be checking them every now and then regardless of if they are iridium or copper.
