Gopro Vs The Rest

Yeah I've searched for that but no go.

I did a bit of a search on YouTube, a lot of people are putting the mics right next to the exhaust and the gopro mounted on the windscreen. It picks up awesome sound but makes me wonder what it would sound like with the mic mounted in the engine bay right next to a screaming turbo......

Do you guys just use the suction cup to mount to the outside of car? No other fixing?

Yeah I just use the suction cap. It's bloody strong when it's attached, but just make sure the surface is clean.

Clean surface and I've had it hold on at over 160kmh..

Seen people rig safety straps though..

You can get tethers which attach to the camera case

You could just use either 80lb fishing line or plastic coated wire trace and crimpers to make your own straps....

I use a piece of earthing cable looped back on itself with crimps.. Hopefully never need to test whether it works..

Gopro have tested the suction caps on planes at 200mph+. They wouldn't come off if they are fitted correctly.

But there is a first for everything.......
