More soul searching than I care to go into dags.

But we decided that we needed to forget we had a kid and decide what was best for each of us with the belief that no matter what he'd be okay.

We took a fair bit of time and a lot of difficulty to keep things respectful but we raised almost every issue we had and we had to discuss them without actually fighting about it. Pretty hard thing to do as a lot of feelings got hurt.

End game the biggest issues we had were me working too much and working away a lot. Which I always felt I needed to do so my job was safe as she throws in every great job she has had and has had a couple barely break even ventures into her own business.

Resolved that she had no clue she was barely breaking even because to avoid a fight I would just do her book work without actually discussing it with her and she has zero knowledge of financial stuff.

Unbelievable how many little things end up building up though to create breaking points. Until we started talking I had no idea how pissed off I was that I had to do all the daycare drop off and pick ups and she would never do any..

TLDR: Getting there mate. f*ck loads better than it was 12 months ago. Actually treating each other with respect and sleeping in the same room again.

I can safely say I understand why people take the easy road and do the dump and run.

In my mind I also know if that had of happened we would of still been on constant contact because of the little guy and we would have departed on bitter terms which doesn't set a good foundation for all future discussions.
