Yeah it is a pain, and we can all thank all of the oxygen thiefs that steal fuel for it.

I know for a fact that my local servo docs the attendants pay for drive offs

yep, I used to work at a servo... and if there was a drive-off, the amount came off of the pay. pretty ghey..but I never had a drive off that I didnt record, always had the number plates, make/model , colour of the car recprded.... which is all I can do in my situation.

but I am australian, and didn't make anyone pre-pay... probably the best servo attendant in the history of the world :-P

So what if you pre-pay more then you can actually fill up? Do they refund you?

RIPGMH, so even after leaving him your valet with cash and credit card he insisted that you pay, how I <3 Bananas gay is that. And from the stories seems like it's always an Indian guy behind the counter.

And while we're at pre-pay fuel, here is an interesting photo I took at a Caltex servo, and that's not somewhere in the middle of nowhere, it's on woodville rd, few km's south of Parramatta.

I would have gone back to the car,

checked the oil water cleaned the screen tossed some rubbish used a handful of paper towels and then left without getting fuel.

LMAO, same here... as well as pump the tyres and use the toilets!

Why isn't pay at the pump an option here in Australia? That's one of the first things I really started to miss (and still do) since arriving here over 9 years ago.
