Looks like an Orion F6 will be my last performance 6cyl Ford.

That motor will stink in comparison to what we have today. :stirthepot:

Someone tell me what's wrong with changing the current I6 so it reaches operating temp quicker? Different material/heating strategy?

R&D mate, that's all.

If they wanted to, they could, but Ford are choosing the easy and low cost option of importing a generic engine, relying on the volume buyers to know SFA about engines and torque @ rpm values, but only focus on price of the car and fuel consumption :B):

Just sad to see more skilled jobs lost, as this is FOREVER.

What about the V8, are they going to kill that all together?

I take back what I said in the other thread, they can keep that pos..

not gonna buy one, the low down torque is too important to me!

  • Still have a turbo, it's just on a diesel.

The I6 has now got it in the neck, how long will it be before the v8s go the same way. They are iron blocks as well.

Can't say I'm holding out much hope of the last of the I6's in the orion being much good either. Given fords brilliant quality control as a base to work off I'm sure that will now improve out of site given that the people that will be building the engines have all been told there getting sacked :B):
