July 18, 200719 yr #62 And this from Ford US,The 360Hp Direct Injected Twin Turbo V6 based on the D35 was already approved for production.that's about 237 KW !! BIG DEAL!To be fair, 360Hp = 270KW I so much wanted to use that pic Clarke
July 18, 200719 yr #63 Looks like my plan to get a land rover 110 is one step closer, as when it comes time to say good buy to the current ride there will not be a new falcon to replace it.
July 18, 200719 yr #64 NiceUmm I think Ill just keep mine and may be buy a orion F6 on runout late 2009Me too , then European......mmmmmm M3
July 18, 200719 yr #65 yes 360hp is 270kw, so the new engine can make good power. I wouldnt write off the new motor just yet, potentially with a few mods, this TT thing could rev to 8000+rpm and make some very impressive kw numbers. everything will just happen much higher in the rev range. lets wait and see I reckon... its just a shame that all those aussies will be out of a job. They should build it here... Edited July 18, 200719 yr by groper
July 18, 200719 yr #66 v6 + falcon = Gee Aye Why..They better put some big freakin snails on that v6!!! that's all I have to say...
July 18, 200719 yr #67 its the governments fault with there bum-chum approach to china"no traifs.. that's gotta be a good thing.. right?"When the ACIS scheme runs out.. there goes australian R&D

They should build it here...that's the thing I love about the current motor though, it doesn't have to rev to 8000rpm.. 5500rpm and it's up and really going, while the other V6s are still trying to reach peak power.. I dunno, time will tell.
July 18, 200719 yr #69 I think all you guys are over-reacting. Reality is the IL6 is history and we will get a new engine. The Duratec 35 has be rated in the top 10 engines in the world. This engine also comes as a 3700cc unit. Would you rather lose the IL6 or lose the Falcon all together? For those asking what about the V8? Go to goauto.com.au and read the article posted 2 days ago about the new range of Twin-Turbo Ford engines, one of them being a new 5.0 V8 that makes over 320kw. Its all about cost cutting and as the end of the day FMC is a big business that is trying to make money and not lose money.
July 18, 200719 yr #70 its the governments fault with there bum-chum approach to chinaWTF are you on about, what a load of How is that related.Typical politcal ignoramous comment. First batch of blocks were made in Mexico, heads from Alabama, crankshaft from India all assembled in Ohio...... all of these places are of course in China
