Boost Solenoid Maintenance

Hi guys, did mine today on my fg mkii. found those bloody clamps on the hoses. if you get a flat blade on the "top" side it helps unhook it, but fudged if I know how to get it back on. the smaller hose had a smaller clamp and I could just pull the whole hose off. made a little difference, but ive only done 27k kms

Done this today on my FG was a real pain to get off, I ended up removing

Battery, cooler pipe and coolant reservoir to make it easier to access

It was even harder to put back on with that bloody clip, ended up removing

It and getting a hose clamp from supercheap, definately notice the throttle

Response and turbo seems to boost more freely, definately worth the time

And much easier to do a second time now without removing battery, just use

Socket extension and unbolt solenoid clip behind battery makes life a lot easier.

I have been doing some research on WD40 and I think in this application, there should be a better choice.

I used it for years on some of my firearms and did notice the gummed up effect - could be why the improvement is only temporary.

I am leaning towards something like

CRC Syntex Synthetic Lubricant (rubber safe and no silicone)
