Guest jteale Guests Posted 07/09/04 07:46 AM Posted 07/09/04 07:46 AM Mmmm, very disappointing Ford ... it would seem to me as though we may as well mod our cars to our hearts content as even when you have an issue they find many excuses to not fix it ... I am yet to hear a clunky car (I have a clunk free Auto ... you will have to show me some time Mal) but am outraged that this can continue to happen ...Where's Mr Hinch when you need him ... Shame ... Shame ...Cheers, Jason.

I don't believe that my car is a lemon. But cars being cars, are gonna have problems and there has to be some level of common sense when it comes to admitting to and repairing faults. Don't get me wrong, I think that the T is a great car, and in many respects, one of the best that I've had, but you just can't treat the customer like that. And they do it because they can....

As far as I'm concered once they have your money you can kiss their macka

From an unemotional perspective is that so bad? SUrely no one reasonably expects them to take responsibility for every backyard project and its potential outcomes.DingahDingah

I was told my rear door was out of alignment due the front guard being replaced.....and that was from head office not the dealership?? Oh well I've had no contact with them since they banned me from their workshop 6 weeks ago and I haven't even modded mine, pity the next one is 300+ k's away.I am very disappointed.

The point is that some people here have standard cars and are still being give the bums rush and told there problems are with product specification. Maybe they need to improve their quality control and improve componet manufacturing closer to the blue print that the engineers developed and they would'nt have so many dissatisfied customers and product complaints. This is just an OP from one of those backyard project people who have improved the Ford product and getting 36 mpgWhat's FoMoCo doing to improve their product. Jack by the look of it.macka

They assured me that if it was a case of a new diff or swapping out the gearbox they wouldnt hesitate but do it. l gave them the spiel about how farked it is, unacceptable blah blah blah and while they didnt agree with me they did say its a combination of the backlash tolerances in all the components summing up into too much freeplay. l argued that too much freeplay leads to shock loading etc but l was pissing in the wind. They brough along another GT for me to drive and while it had shunt too, it wasnt as bad as my car. It was suprising how much nicer it was to drive than mine, obviously continuous tweaks over the past 9 months have improved the overall feel of the cars.Neither had driven the BA2 with the 6 speed but they both thought that shunt would still be with us in series 2. l was stupidly toying with the idea of a new GT-P but not now. This will be my last BA.

I would never expect Ford to honor a gearbox if I was running phase 3 r through it, it was more the way I felt the tone of the letter went.I felt they said haha WE are telling you there is no problem, oh an by the way we know you have modded your car, so do not expect any warranty on your driveline in the future, now Pi$$off, we are not interested. The ONLY reason I got the Unichip is because Ford service had 2 goes at trying to find my surging problem and said there was no problem.I took it to APS and they were having all sorts of problems getting it tuned, it was knocking. It turned out the knock sensor was not plugged in properly. I have not had one problem since the Unichip, I will be removing it and returning the car back to stock. Then Ford can remove me of the warranty alert and stick their service department up their as it is not worth the grief anymore.I still love my car, but Ford has lost my respect and future $'s.

So youre going to all the trouble of removing your chip, then taking it to Ford to get it removed off the list, then you arent even going back to Ford service again?Umm, pointless exercise? If you are never going back to Ford service dept again, dont bother getting removed off the list. Ford probably wont remove you anyway. All you'll do is demonstrate to Ford how easy and fast you can remove the chip!
