  1. Happy Birthday Mondie!

  2. Hi Al, Love the car mate, who would have thought in the mid 00's that we would have access to a beast like this just a few years later! I am considering my options for a potential purchase this year and the 335 is proving very attractive. Did you ever get your car tuned - if so what sort of gains did that yield? Anyhow, good to chat with you again. Cheers, mondie
  3. Happy Birthday Mondie!

  4. No never met him Dags, could be a member of the GT Club for all l know. Cheers
  5. Thanks guys. The event runs for the 4 days over Easter, all these pics were from yesterdays show & shine. Today was a motorsport event at Mallala and a cruise to Birdwood. For those who live in Adelaide, the final event is an informal brunch at Glenelg tomorrow Cheers, Mondie
  6. Thought you guys would enjoy some pics from the GT Nationals held in Adelaide. What an awesome event, well done to the organisers and the weather gods, the day was perfect and its harder to imagine a more picturesque venue than Elder Park. Cheers, mondie Not very often you get to drive a GT along the banks of the Torrens River!!
  7. She's in it for the money, just like her last attempt at election Cheers, mondie
  8. sh*t mate that's bad news, everyday l am hearing more and more first hand accounts of people being affected by the deflating debt bubble. Fingers crossed for you and the company that from here the cutbacks are sufficient for the company to survive into the future. The company l work for has laid of nearly 200 people, this is a company that just 4 months ago was hiring at 50 per month. That's how quickly the unwinding of the world economy has hit.
  9. l would agree, from the Ford stable l would nominate the T3 TS-50 in manual, not many of them around and highly desirable. No modern car made in Oz is going to approach the HO/XU1 etc as none of them are factory cars made for racing, that's where the legend was born and grew from. l believe the Evo IX will remain desirable and possibly mildly collectable in the future, its a hardcore factory car in a unique shell and was made for racing homolagation. These days are pretty much gone sadly. Cheers, mondie
  10. Too right Doc, capitalism on the way up and socialism on the way down You and l wont get bailed out, we will just get to be part of the next generation of tax payers slugged to repay the losses of those bailed out by the government for being too greedy. market forces should be allowed to take their course not artificial pumping up by bailing out to keep prices high. Load of sh*t. Hi rapid, l think that forum link is down, they must not have paid their bill. ironic in a way Perth went up hard on the back of the boom and high paying jobs which are now disappearing, how bad it will be who can say other than it seems to get worse on a daily basis. The company l work for has a minor involvement in mining in Kalgoorlie and its amazing how hard and quickly that market has slowed, it was inconceivable not so long ago to those (such as myself) that were not really too focused on the bigger picture. You can go on the GHPC forum and search old posts and see the predictions of those who understood the fundamentals, they expected it. Smarter than l. Apache in Perth have pulled back hard, the others have not changed their plans much (yet) but if Oil sinks then its inevitable. l am finding the same in the Oil Industry, the guys with 1 years experience who have resumes longer than mine are the first laid off, as in all markets there is a flight to quality in a downturn and the labour market is no different. These people will find it very hard to stay in the Industry as they essentially have little expert skill to offer. So back they go to their pre boom average paying jobs, its possibly still not enough to support the lifestyle they thought would go on and on, so they start selling up some of their stuff.... Cheers, mondie
  11. Yeah its mainly building something which in today's market we could burn $200k easily on by the time its built, and that's in today's market, by the time it was done by years end it will most likely be even worse. When we bought the land it was a dream block for us and we marched full steam ahead into building, this was June 08. By October l started to feel uneasy about it all. My wife had been watching established homes and we noticed they stopped selling and the downward price pressure. Established homes are now much better value even taking into account the outrageous stamp duty payable. There is a house we looked at yesterday that we would dearly love to buy but we need to sell the land first. It has been reduced 400k from what it listed at only months ago. The builder has over capitalised and completely missed the market trend. We couldn't build anything close to it for the money, so building is out of the question until the builders become more realistic, which they will as the order books thin. House prices in this country are completely out of control and the Ponzi scheme as its dubbed by some, is starting to unravel. GL in Perth mate, l think that place is going to face some real hard times and social problems in the coming years. Cheers, mondie
  12. Six months ago l thought l was fairly well insulated but the Oil price has gone through the floor and the easy money has left the stockmarket. Thankfully l work in the Energy sector which will always have underlying demand so while things might die in the arse they will not come to a stop like business operating in the discretionary end of the spectrum Hi Dags, l am a glass half full kind of guy but this has me spooked, it goes way beyond talking ourselves into it, the ramifications are much bigger than that. Spend some time on that forum and take in some of the hard data and work out who the people are with their finger on the pulse, its not a wankfest, there is some very insightful people there. Anyhow, nobody needs to convince anyone else of their thoughs, do whats right for you. We recenly moved to Adelaide and were all set to build our "dream house" but the speed at which the economy as dropped here is amazing, we have decided to sit on our hands for the time being. Was in Perth last week, that place is so so screwed. Its happening. The effect the media is having up until the last 2 weeks at least, is to tell us things are fine and to encourage the sheep to wade into the real estate market because "now is a great time to buy" Low interest rates blah blah ..........Non stop advertorials pumping up the interests of their sponsors. Forget the media. Cheers, mondie
  13. Hi Doc, Its been a long while, hows it going these days mate, keeping FPV honest l was in the UK on holidays in December and that country is so screwed, at least 1/3rd of pubs were boarded up, shops closed everywhere and those not yet closed running 70% or more off sales. We are headed off a cliff in this country rapidiy and l find it hard to fathom how we are going to come out the other side. The debt fueled boom is unwinding at an accelerating pace. l have started lurking on a forum that is full of the usual dills and tools, but also some very smart people. Have a read, study the facts and think about what is happening in your little corner of the world. Forget what the media is saying its all trite and self interest, look a bit further. http://forum.globalhousepricecrash.com/index.php?showforum=9 Cheers, mondie
  14. Nice choice, looks horn in white l bought one of these the first year the STi version was released - 2006. Great car but still a bit lacking in the engine department for my liking. At least now they get Brembos not the standard brakes which are only average. cheers, mondie
  15. So would l. Read this month in either Wheels or Motor one of the Jurnos stating they thought the FG XR6T was a better car than the BF FPV F6, that's high praise Try and drive both because until you do all you have is opinions. Cheers, mondie
  16. Because it would sell more cars. It would stop me buying one, it could easily be released in a manual since its an identical driveline to a GT. l will strongly consider a Senator this year as it can be had in a manual. Just because you want some luxury and something a bit more discrete doesn't mean you have given up on driving too.
  17. l could be tempted into one later this year if l could buy a manual HSV are releasing a Senator later this year with the new Tremec 6060, l wonder if FPV will respond. Doubt it!
  18. This one has done the rounds. It was test organised by the NSW RTA to demonstrate the dangers of a cut and shut as had been performed on that VB. l think they proved their point !!
  19. Hands down l would go for the Force 6, its a bargain at that price too. Are they auto only or did they also make manuals? Auto would probably make me think twice Cheers Mondie
  20. Hi mate, Here's an old link with some info on the car, this was done by the previous owner. http://www.wolfpac.com.au/car_11.htm Cheers Mondie
  21. Here you go...plenty more where this come from.
  22. SennaT, What is the latest on when you can expect FPV pricing, and sales brochures? Thanks mondie
  23. What about driveline shunt, the new FPV's have me interested but not if the arse clunks away like a flogged out old Leyland.
  24. Yeah it does, looks horn in the pics l have seen, but no manual. That kills it for me
  25. Mondie

    Buying Land

Yes that's correct Dan but you have to carry costs until you sell so it can be a pretty poor cashflow situation for some.
