I've had recurring problems with my car for some time - after many trips back to the dealer(s) I decided that they didn't have the technical expertise to fix the car and went to an independent workshop and paid for the fixes !

It should never have come to this, but if I had left it to Ford, it would never have been fixed.

I had the car booked in for a replacement diff (not clunking, just the whine), and the Ford CRC admitted that the replacement would probably be worse than the current one !

(The CRC even called the dealership on my behalf to cancel the order !)

It's going to be a long time before a Ford dealership sees my car again !

So Twinxrs has your diff problem been rectified by an outside company?

Nope, I'm going to leave it for a while, maybe Ford will come up with a permanant fix sometime :nuts2:

It's only the whine, and only between 80 & 100kmh. Just turn up the CD's and forget about it !

I've had mine in to Ford several times to fix the exhaust heat shield rattle. It only survives 2-3 days of driving before rattling again.

Also have the dreaded back seat creak. They looked at it and said that they have fixed it, but still creaks (had same problem in EBII Falcon, fix was to tighten every nut or bolt that was connected to the backseat, but haven't tried this yet).

Some of my driveline issues were resolved when I convinced a Ford dealer in Brisbane to complete the download for stalling, but only has mild driveline shunt.

One problem that I've had repaired is body corrision (rust) under warranty. All doors, bonnet and bootlid were removed and the area cleaned, painted and reassembled. Ford don't paint under any attaching hinges or panels, hence it's bare metal and will eventually rust through. Other car manufactures in Australia build there cars the same (Holden).

In the latest edition of Motor Magazine Didn't they complain about the Clunk??

If so maybe there is a case to answer. But you will need to find out about how many others are doing it.

Good Luck

It was probably a hand built vehicle. Even prestige manufactures have policies on how a media vehicle is to be prepared and "shaken down" prior to being handed over to the journos.

Well, I had my T "Ford Serviced" and they even managed to put the wrong oil in the sucker, according to the Invoice...

Hows that for Quality work. Couldn't even get the KM's right on the docket either.. One would assume that is a car was in for a 30,000KM Service, you would double check the mileage if it had been written down as 25,600KM wouldn't you ?
