  1. It's an awesome colour ! That and citric acid....
  2. Hi all I'm currently running my car on 98 octane fuels as that what it's been _tuned_ for (it's a Phase II) and it's going great ! But now I've seen/heard some advertisements for the new Shell Optimax Extreme fuel that's classified as 100 octane through the addition of some ethanol ! So, what's the deal ? Has anyone tried this with their T yet ? Would a vehicle equipped with an aftermarket tune be able to use this "as is" or would it be best to get it back to an expert for a re-tune on the new fuel ? Would it work at all ? Any insight would be appreciated ! Thanks, Scott
  3. A big thanks to MissXR ! Antoinette you put together another great day ! Good to see everyone again. It really hurt not being able to get out on the track - looked like great fun ! Especially once the started ! Here's to the next one at Eastern Creek Karts - can't wait ! Scott
  4. Hi All This also comes down to that much posted about issue - ADR compliance. Here we go again ! Having spoken to my insurer, I was informed that it is my responsibility to ensure that I can prove that my car is "legal". How do I do this ? With an engineers certificate... (not this old argument again !) What needs to be engineered ? Pretty much anything that isn't originally made or specified by Ford. So aftermarket rims need the report, but if I go and slap on a set of non-Dunlop tires with identical specifications, then no report. I asked the engineer that did my Phase II paperwork - what about a set of DBA 4000 slotted rotors ? As long as they are made to Ford's specifications (size etc) then it's not considered a mod. The same goes for after-market air filters etc. Same with an exhaust - is it the same as the original Ford design ? If the after-market one is of a similar capacity then you're fine, but the APS or Nizpro with the larger high-flow cat etc, it's a mod... It's not the manufacturer of the item but it's specifications - is it a "drop-in" replacement for a Ford component ? That's a pretty easy question to answer... Insurance companies will look at the obvious to get out of a claim - if it takes a standard T 35 metres to accelerate to 50kmh (for instance), but an accident investigation shows that your car did it in half that - you are going to be asked some serious questions...
  5. Hi All We'll be there ! (Finally got the OK with work...)
  6. Hi Antoinette Sorry 'bout the slow reply... Took a while to clear it with work etc... Put us down for 2 x SC !

    Brake Upgrade

In the same catalogue there are also some boost gauges... Speco for $49 and Autometer for $129 -> see here for details Anyone know anything about these brands ? I'd be surprised if the $49 ones are worth the trouble, but what about the Autometer ones ? Of course then you have to mount it somewhere in the dash... Both types of gauges appear too big for the SS Inductions gauge holder ????
  8. If you have a look at the first image you'll notice a short blue piece of lightning in the foreground... This is actually the beginning of a lightning strike, the first discharge is always from the ground going up, this then creates the path for the main discharge back down the other way. Amazing fluke that he/she managed to get it along with the other strikes in the background !
  9. The thermostat on my T was stuck open, resulting in high fuel useage... How long does the car take to warm up in the morning ? If the temp. needle takes too long to get to the "normal" range, then this is a possibility... Good luck !

    RUMBLE

Already been done... Have a look at the custom intake plenum that Nizpro have developed... Although there has also been some alternative information from the folks at APS... Details here. Before anyone starts, no I'm not trying to hijack the thread, nor am I looking to start any sort of fight...

    V8 Supercar

this sounds great ! (as long as the extra rounds are held in Australia it's all good...)
  12. Wish I'd known about this mod when I was looking at the T ! (Chalk up another incredible eBay deal...) Think of all the $$$$ that I could have saved ! Sorry to all you NA folk ! Just couldn't resist a bit of stirring !
  13. We would need a "special" category for Ken & Goldie: Best thong Best lamington For Cro: Worst L/100km Best "cooked" brake pads
  14. Of course your ability to get one of the new Phase II kits installed at the moment will probably be quite limited... APS retailers will probably have existing stock of the old Phase II kits, which they have purchased (and paid for), and no-doubt will want (need) to move these on before they start to stock up on the new (cheaper) Phase II kits. (I'm not having a go at anyone, just thought I should make the realities completely obvious...) I wonder where this leaves APS retailers ? I mean they paid $XXX for their Phase II kits with the fuel pump, and now APS are promoting the new Phase II for $1000 less... If I was a customer, then I'd want it at the new price, if I'm a retailer, do I have to take a $1000 loss on the older stock ?
