  1. The walbro will just fill the surge tank quicker than the stock pump, if your upgrading to a surge for peace of mind replace the intank with a higher rated one. How much power are you aiming for?
  2. I have the same setup, it has been running fine since day 1 on e85, also quieter than 2 044's. Alot of the guys in the states run these pumps with no problem.
  3. I'm assuming you want more traction, if so just buy a better tyre in the correct size for your wheel, like a nitto invo/nt05. Squeezing a tyre onto a rim is not recommended.
  4. I paid $230 each for my Nitto NT05R's, that pretty cheap when compared to the MT ET's which are over $100 more per tyre
  5. I just got the NT05R's, will let you know when I go out next. Damn Rain!!!!!!!!
  6. Yes, I remember you now, you came up and had a chat with me early in the night. Should be much lighter with the mirrors folded...lol
  7. I was there in a White Bf2, what colour was your car.
  8. How much power are you going for?
  9. And Miguels box was broken right Matt?
  10. Also try CMS as he has just rebuilt Veva's box. I had a chat to him a while ago and he also said it should only cost about 2K. Might be worth speaking to Joe and see what he can do.
  11. That seems pretty steep, I had my box serviced at S&H Autos in Botany and asked how much for a rebuild and was quoted about $2500, don't know how much more a convertor and input shaft would be. I would definately go a heat treated shaft but would not switch converters as it's my daily. Not having a go as dominello do awsome work but 6K???
  12. Hey Fierce, how much did they quote and what do they change? I'm also looking at the same thing in the future.
  13. When are you going out Veva? I should be there this week if weather permits
  14. Joe will use any product you want to use, Chris' gear is good but its up to you what you want to use. I myself have only heard good things of Joe and CMS and have spoken to Joe and Chris a number of times and have found them to be very honest blokes. Can I ask what stories you have heard. George
  15. 410 says the Autotech dyno. Still trying to get my head around this drag stuff. Made more power on flex but MPH was down by 1. This could be due to the quicker the ET, the less time you have to get a higher MPH. It was also 27 deg when I ran the 11.1 so I don't think it would have had more than 380 ish. Went out this week and the first pass was wheelspin city through 1st and 2nd (ET streets), ran 11.8 at 127. Might be from all the rain and a not so well prepped track. It then went pear shaped. 2nd run and heard a pop and then no boost, pipe came off the throttle body. I had the thermostat replaced that day so thought the hose clamp may not have been put on properly. 3rd run and same thing happened, packed it up and went home very dissapointed. It turns out the bolt that holds down the TB on the PW TB relocation kit was not put on and as soon as the boost gets up the clamp has no hope of holding the hose on. All sorted now and hopefully back out this week.
  16. I'm also curious to what others recommend. Mines a BF Turbo, starndard driveline with the exception of super pro bushes and it has held up fine so far with a best time of 11.1 @ 125. Weak point would have to be tailshaft if holding boost on the line for too long. Billet shafts from diff technics are a good option and on my to do list. What damage did you do to the convertor and how?
  17. I'm using paper but change it every 15,000. Only run eflex but will inspect the filter after I change it. Am I looking for swelling of the paper?
  18. A 10 on streets is in no way an easy task. Matt, you have plenty of power and you will come very close if you do not get the 10 your going for, I just think its harder for a zf equipped car. Your 11.2 on street tyres is an amazing achievment and not taking anything away from JP but it would be easier to net a 10 with a stalled and built BTR box. Good luck and I'm sure once the ET streets go on a low 10 will be there for the taking. Are you still going out tommorrow?
  19. You won't be dissapointed, Joe is a straight shooter and a very well respected tuner. Go and have a chat with him and then make up your mind. Don't make a choice by an opinion off a forum, in the end you have to feel comfortable that your tuner will look after you and your car and will back his work. My car is tuned by Spiro at Autotech but I have spoken to Joe a few times and he tells it like it is and does not try to feed you what you want to hear.
  20. If your tuner is dearer than most shops just get everything done at a local shop and flash your original tune back in. Not much to it.

Good to hear mate, sort of makes you wonder on standard cars you could probably leave it till 150,000

Hey Adam, how did you go with the squawk issue? George

Like yourself I had 100,000klms on the clock so opted for a full flush, but at over 400rwks I'm thinking a filter and oil change every 25,000 might help the box last a bit longer.
  24. How hot was it on the day? I lost 30rwkw on the same dyno due to heat. Going by your prices and sig it looks like Spiro (Autotech) has tuned your car. If so then his dyno reads low if you compare the same mods to other shops. I agree with Ryno that a standard turbo on 98 will not net 400rwks on Autotechs dyno. Mine went 375 but I've seen other guys on these forums that have gone over 400 with similar mods. If you are happpy with the car then I would not worry about that piece of paper. A dyno is just a safer way for a tuner to tune your car. Enjoy your car and take it down to the drags when you get a chance. MPH is a good indication of the power you have. George
  25. Where is this new site Matt? I fill up at Moorebank (Cnr Nuwarra and Milperra), is this the one or is there another opening up close by?
