  1. Went to get my key cut today at "The Glen" The guys says nope it won't work cos it has a transponder. He checked it and yes it has a transponder. I said well I can program it myself. He says no you can't. I said well just cut it anyway and if I can't program it I'll bring it back for you to program. He says $50 to cut it! WTF?
  2. Radio Control Nitro Helicopters!! Still 2 stroke. sh1t loads of fun. Really high concentration level. Just a tiny bit cheaper than bikes. And you get a real buzz cos it's a huge learning experience.
  3. Mine passed EPA yesterday with a 100cpsi cat. It's as quiet as a stocky as well.
  4. OK well I got it all sorted today. I had to take it in for EPA evaluation, noise and emissions, oil leaks and pretty much all that. I was that figgin paranoid I made sure the water in the washer bottle was clean and didn't smell like StKilda beach cos sure as hell I woulda got done for that as well...LOL I got the exhaust fixed, put a new cat in, put the bov back to standard. I was really hesitant to change the injectors back to standard cos its a pain of a job, so I just left the 60lb dekas in with the headsex tune as it's been running so well for ages. Thought I'd give it a try as I still have another week just in case I need a retest. Even left the 2nd CAI on. It came in well under the minimum requirement for noise and emissions and that's with the dekas and headsex tune. Got the certificate and posted in in, so hopefully in the next couple of days it'll be all cleared. Happy as Leisure Suit Larry....
  5. Sounds sweet hey. I got busted for the exact same thing,,,Had to take it off so now I have ffffflutter.. instead
  6. PM sent,,,just paid for mine today..
  7. As a variation you could do Black Spur all the way through Buxton etc and turn off at Taggerty for Eildon. Do a lap up Skyline which is an awesome climb, round the loop and back home via Alexandra, or run the Skyline full loop and back out through Eildon and back home the same way. The Flowerdale, Strath Creek run is great then on to Broadford. Short 3k climb but there's heaps of drifting on the way up.
  8. Acheron way isn't sealed all the way. Great sections but if you don't mind gettin your car dirty it's ok. You could do Warburton,(Cafe Mechannica for brekkie), Reefton Spur, Cambarville Junction rest, Lake mountain lap then on to Marysville for lunch. Then through the Black Spur to Healsville and for those that wanted to keep going do Chum Creek Rd to Toolangi and Kinglake, then home via St Andrews. If you wanted to bypass Reefton you could go Acheron way via Donna Buang but for the dirt section. Either way you'll probably go past a police blitz no matter where ou go. Healsville every weekend in the summer. Yeh it's policed pretty heavy during the summer. Nearly all over the blitz now though. It is 80kmh on Reefton with the radar setup in the same spot every weekend, on the 200m straight. Sometimes timing is setup between start and finish but maybe over it now. That's just 1 spot you can relax and take in the views.
  9. SHEETTTTTT,,,,was that you Danny???? Man sorry to hear....glad you got insurance though.... I was away on Saturday so no damage to the car,,but destroyed the lazerlight sheets on the shed. Studd got a bit waterlogged, lost some electrical gear but I can replace that.
  10. MIne was doing the same but I also have a car full of communications equipment. I ran earth straps from the boot to the body, bonnet to body, and also under the car from tow bar to chassis. Ran a large flat earth strap from neg supply in the boot straight to chassis as well. Cured all the whining.
  11. The anti-pollution air returns cause a lot of popping. Something in the throttle body or in that area with air returning back to the intake system somehow. They call it smogging and it reduces emissions. They do it on bikes as well and real easy to block off the air returns and it eliminates the popping all together. Mine does it and has been doing it since I changed the exhaust,,,umm abt 3 or 4 years ago.
  12. Yeh I get up to Rutherglen a fair bit, my folks are still there. I normally pop over to Wodonga or Albury, used to work there for years. I'll look ya up next trip.
  13. ROFL,,,good one mate, I would've done the same....
  14. Yeh I didn't read it. Not on the forums much these days cos of family etc. Geez I haven't out on a FRiday evening for ages, I was coming home after looking for a radiator hose for the missus car. Saw all the traffic and I thought there was an accident or something. Heaps of cars and cops, there was a huge queue of cars waiting to get epa'd. One guy an a EB ute or similar had broken wheels studs, and lots of other defects. Silvia next to me went for a few things too.
  15. What did I get done for,, Well I won't know exactly till I get the notice in the mail. But I'll post it up when I find out.
  16. Yeh that was me,,,got done for EVERYTHING! After I just put a new clutch in yesterday, using the banks money cos I'm totally out. They had sooooo many cars pulled in too. Damn this is gonna hurt. Anyone got a set of standard injectors I could borrow for a couple of weeks or maybe buy. I'll try to find my originals in dads shed somewhere. What a night,,
  17. Yeh definately go the MW OPT3. I have the xtreme,,(number 3 on your list) and it holds over 300kw easily, BUT, the friggen thing shudders like all hell. Been in the car for a couple of years and it's starting to go bad cos you can hear it heat up when you try to take of smoothly off a hill,,,which you can't by the way, and it shudders like crazy.
  18. Spotted YPURV4 yesterday arvo in Moorabbin, turning off South Rd...I was gonna spin around and come see ya but was rushin home for dinner....
  19. Also heard that it doesn't make the car legal to drive on P's. It's compliance says it's a turbo vehicle, whether you remove the turbo or leave it there the vehicle is not legal for you to drive. I just heard that on a forum so it's second hand info, you may wanna check it. Actually it was on this forum a year or 2 ago..
  20. There are 2 types available from Ford. I'm not sure if that's still the case now though. The more exepsive Ford unit at $135 has a pre-amplifier and some noise filtering already inside the unit, plus it comes with cables. The cheaper (older) ford unit didn't have a pre-amp. The real cheap ebay units are simply a plug adaptor, plugs into the aux input, same place under the dash, and you run the extention cable to the tissue box. They have no pre-amp and no noise filtering. Not every single ba/bf suffers from the same electrical whine so sometimes the cheaper one works just fine, even though you have to turn the volume up on your ipod. The ones with the built in pre-amp are heaps better cos you don't have the volume up so loud. Also with the higher input level to the prem sound the loudness is utilsed a lot better cos it's at a lower volume.
  21. Hey guys,,,I'm baaaaaaack hahaha... Is the cruise still on? Looks like there were heaps going.... I'm putting a new tyre on in the morning so will head to President anyway after that just in case.
  22. Can you get a pic? How fat was the body? Dark brown or really black? How many spots in each row? Did it have 6 or 8 spots in total? I have lots of spiders, and been bitten a few times as well.
  23. Same here, everytime it rains my front end squeeks. The water doesn't even have to touch it, as soon as I get out the driveway every bump is a squeek. its a PITA, they say nothing wrong with it.
  24. As you know every tyre is different, every track is different. So what pressure you run on 1 track doesn't mean it'll be food for the next track either. It's a pretty complex art but some good starting points: Start with 38 front and 36 rear and do 1 full session. As soon as you return take the pressure readings from all 4 tyres. Wherever you get more than a 10% increase in pressure go down 1-2psi, wherever you get below a 10% increase increase by 1 psi. Do another session and check. By the 3rd session you'll be pretty much spot on but remember as the day progresses and the track temps warm up, you'll have to drop pressures a little. So if you're on a pretty tight track you may find the rears have spun up a bit and gotten a little hot say to 42. That's a 14% increase. Drop them by 2psi to 40 hot and go for your next session. Really that's very basic, cos what will happen is the car will probably start squirming a bit when the tyres get hot, could it be your pressures, your tread, the suspension or the tyres going off? Pretty difficult to tell unless you have a look at the tyres. More than likely if you're running the standard Dunlops they'll be pretty feathered and you know that's the problem, raise the pressure a little to compensate for cr@ppy tyres and soft sidewalls. Lots of things you can do, just experiment to what feels best for you on that track. Make sure you have a VERY accurate pressure guage with you. TRue what EZ2CME says with running high pressures, a lot of guys just don't drive hard enough to build up enough heat to start with, so starting with high pressures, albeit a little slippery, may be a good starting point. You'd want to have your springs in pretty good condition though.
  25. Well that was FUN!!!!! We DID do the swap on Saturday morning, I went for a spin around town and came back about 2 hours later. He says to me how the f*^k do you drive this thing with that clutch? He drove my sweet T around the block and parked it. LOL, well after I explained the situation he says how much time have you got, take me for a spin. (in HIS car mind you) So off we went for a lap up to my private road next to the farm, and well the rest is history. His passenger seat is full of claw marks...ROFL. Sweet. For $200K the suspension is nice, the note is nice especially at 7000rpm, it just sings along nicely. Definately not the torque of the T, but it makes good power and great fun to drive. I'm looking forward to a track day in it, see if I can improve my PB's??? Who knows.
