  1. I run a FG exhaust manifold on my BA with 6466.
  2. Had my first decent drive yesterday with the Teins installed in my car all round and with them set half way adjustment wise they are very smooth on the road....I run XR8 18" rims so there is a 40 series sidewall fwiw. Stock sway bars all round just SuperPro bushes in the front end. Doesn't feel any rougher than a set of lowered shocks/springs IMO.
  3. Don't discredit the people who have family that actually tune lol....yep free tunes can be good Ralphy I wasn't the previous owner PMSL
  4. The pump gears will still need doing as the short engine doesn't come with any....Atomic billet gears are widely used with success. Some new guides, hardened crank sprocket and heavy duty timing chain from Atomic will see that area pretty much bullet proof.....stock tensioner is fine.....Atomic is better as it doesn't allow it to bleed back any. The short motors are around 3k so Id budget at least 7k for the build with the added accessories and labour.
  5. The Mace spacers work well if the application can utilise it. Geoff has some quality gear on his rig that's for sure. Message me on Bookface if you want to run a FG throttlebody on her
  6. Speak to Paul Geri at Northmead Auto Centre and he will steer you in the right direction. Personally I think a FG F6 short motor would suffice but it all depends if you want some headroom up your sleeve.
  7. I think you need to do some more scouring of mph/dyno charts in regards to this....I did before I commented.
  8. Not exactly setting the world on fire when a stock one can go very similar at 15psi in the right tuners hands/decent hardware used.
  9. Chrome,around 3400lbs and Turbocharged lol.
  10. Starting the new project Ive been hatching for a while.....Ford engine but Expensive Daewoo bodied
  11. I adapted the two B series throttlebody plugs into a single plug loom that plugged into the FG throttlebody....its just a small loom like the pic above. I am only a backyard mechanic though so be wary of copying this lol
  12. I used FG throttlebdy and a loom to suit
  13. More even airflow also than the lower gutted BBM manifold that was designed for a NA E series with a aftermarket top section chucked on top Flow matched injectors and my plugs have never read so even compared to when I ran the gutted BBM setup.
  14. It could be but I wont have that issue with my oil line/filter design......backyard Facebook mechanic FTW!
  15. Lunch a motor and you will wish a filter was fitted to the turbo.....a motor going can be out of ones hands even with all the boxes ticked....nature of the game we play. Another issue with this practise I see is someone buying a car that wasn't serviced the best and has some build up inside.....introduce a far better oil change routine and the turbo bearing may find themselves meeting with particles of a decent micron and affect the bearings in the turbo. The factory had the right idea they just didn't execute it the best way.
  16. 6466 even with the 1.07 rear spools faster than a baby FG turbo.....that could do with some editing OP as its a major draw card for the 6466. GTX3582 makes more peak than a 6235 as well but the GTX spools a tad later.
  17. Its not hard to test the spring pressure left in them so Id take that path before installing them.....little bit of extra time spent may save you a heap later on You now know where you are at also.
  18. Just hanging around with my two lads in the school holidays.....it doesn't get any better really. One starts high school next year the other starts reception Being a young parent rocks!
  19. I'm not so sure on that one bloke. I know the turbo had to push a little over 21psi to net 18psi in the engine.....same core as the FG ones. Pretty easy test to carry out and confident it is what it is.
  20. The only thing that concerns me is the 3psi of pressure drop over the core....the car is running 18psi in the manifold so its having to pump out a little over 21psi to get the number....its trying to cool more psi than is being used. I know my Rapid cooler has less drop than that and I also know its not as efficient as the Tig cooler....best of both worlds would be nice
  21. It was custom made mate by Jon Bailey aka Jonny Tig.
  22. Fella has a B series so he is going to need cutting if he gets one of Jon's coolers. I carried out a FG manifold conversion/fuel system(used FG throttlebody) a couple weeks ago on a BF and it had said cooler fitted....tight fit is all I can say and IMO fitment was a little less than desirable....spacers are needed on a few parts or some fine trimming carried out on areas one wouldn't expect. 3psi pressure drop across the core also and I can only assume that's normal for this cooler?
  23. I almost bought those Brembos off Geoff.....decided to get some Tein coilovers instead.
