Ford service have probably said theyve changed it out, but in likelyhood havent. Mark the turbo.. see if they actually do change it out.

Ahh, I could have told you that if I knew you were a telstra worker. They did this about 3 years ago on all their vans to reduce the amount of accidents happening. It was such a success they implemented it across all their fleet range Also, top choice on colour. (ive got the same - in my signature below this)

Actually it will beat any of the base model falcon line ups.. XT Ute, Sedan, NA XR6 etc etc. - I think the best I saw from a NA Falcon was 15.0.... Hows it feel to get owned by a 'grandpa' car. FYI: http://ostat.com/dave/magnaregistry.html In future, read up a little before letting off your one eyed big mouth views..

Looks good both inside and out. Loves the flared front and rear guards.. It will look pretty tough dumped with big 19 - 20's on them..

About the only thing you have 'right' is you have proven you havent a clue what is needed to be done to diagnose a fault. You should apologise for acting like you had a clue. 30kms is definetely reasonable when it comes to sorting out diff whine, brake shudder and tail shaft vibration. Especially if the whine only happens at 80km/h and above. As you said, they are close to a freeway.. So they drive out there, get up to 80km's cruise for a bit to try and listen to the whine, see if they can note any vibrations and check out the brakes. They do this a couple of times, turn around and head back to the workshop to try and fix the faults they may have found. They do this maybe 3 times and id actually expect it to be around 60km...

Sounds awsome Cobra8.. Wish I had space to restore an Escort. Ive always wanted a 2 door Escort with widebody flared guards. Heres pics as promised. Its only a 10 minute job as im still at work - Dont have the time at the moment to blend them into the picture any better.

Ill chop it when I get home mate. Give us some specs on your esky..

Was stock when I ran it. Now its got a 2nd cai and middle muffler swapped out to 2 hotdogs. None of the above though would do squat at the wheels..

From memory 2.0 and 2.1 If I gun it from the traffic lights up to around 5400 I found it feels like it is losing power by then.. Could be just me though. So when I get my edit in July @ HPF, I should ask for some printouts of peak power in each gear?
-
Quick question. I had my car dyno'd on the weekend. My previous times have been all around 14.01 - 14.2 @ 100 - 102mph After looking at the dyno figures am I changing gears to late? Usually I would change at 5100 - 5200 rpm... Should I be changing at 5000rpm just after my peak kw or even sooner? Heres the dyno print out.

Thanks Very easy to take off. Inside your bootlid there is a connector plug you will need to disconnect. Its on the right hand side looking at the rear of your boot. Once disconnected undo the 4 bolts - 2 each side. Pull wing off carefully once undone. If Ford did their job properly you will have a smooth boot with 5 holes in it. But knowing Ford they will have tightened the nuts to much and raised some of the metal. - Like mine. Currently I have waterproof white tape over the holes. Im trying to source a super cheap white rear bootlid to replace it with. If you car is a MK1 you can add a rear bulb into the brake light on the parcel shelf. If you have a MKII you will need to source a parcel shelf brake light as they took them out.

Because the wing and badges turn your family sedan into a awsome handling sports sedan.. news flash.. your car is still a family sedan... O MY!
-
Funnily enough that's what im going for. I think the base model car itself looks better than the tarted up xr6. Unfortunately I couldnt buy a turbo optioned XT with XR headlights
-
Personally I think you should removed them. They look out of place.. Before After Also.. I dont think anyone really cares that you paid the extra couple grand so you could drive the turbo model. Nothing else changes in regards to the exterior of the car. The badge designs look stupid aswell.

I think you will find your run the machine wasnt calibrated right. Just the other week a magna (stock) ran a 13.8 Have you run back to back runs around this time? or was it a once off?
-
that is an awesome effort mate!! what was your 60 foot? that's strange.. my mph is the same, et slightly quicker, but my dyno sheet says 297hp atw!! my dyno sheet cant be right hey.. with ~220rwkw I should be around 104-105 mph right?? ← Could be the 5 and 6 speed gearbox difference? Im sure my car can run a 13.8 as the day I got 14.01 was a 35 degree track temp. Could also be that because you have more power its a bit harder to get off the line. Are you changing at your peak power? According to the dyno my peak power is between 4300 - 4800 (not the 5200 ive been changing at) - Ill post up the dyno result when I get home tonight.

Its good to see someone actually post a cost of what they have had done.. Rather than 'Keeping it between themselves and their tuner' If more people put up prices it would certainly help not getting ripped off.

Not bad.. I expected a better run that that. Manual magna's run 15.1 times.. lol -
Why dont you take it to a broker yard? They will sell it for you (at the price range you specify) and they get a cut of the sale.
-
Meh.. Its just how it is. I dont really care whether I buy 'aussie' or overseas.. So long as it tastes good, functions as specified and is of good quality. Kinda makes me wonder why I got the T....

Post some pics up... Cant get excited without pics..

Hes not tongue tied? When I was little I had issue saying words.. The little bit of skin under my tongue went all the way to the end of my tongue (this causes tongue tie or lisps - which means you cant pronounce S, P's etc etc) They can do minor surgery to cut away some of that skin to allow you to speak normally without lisping (sp?) or munching up words. Then again all children are different. Some learn a little later than others..
