  1. Tim, I've experienced the same issue, mine also is a 04 Mkii XRT with 88k. I also recently put on new tyres but every now and then the steering wobbles pretty bad once I get off the brake pedal doing anything between 60kph and 100kph, but then it may not happen for a few days. It is frustrating and probably unsafe, need to get this looked into soon. JS
  2. just reached 80k mate, just got a new set of SP3000 all around. will be driving to Melbourne next week. I try and change the engine oil and filter every 7500kays, give it a good wash every week or so and a polish every 3-4 months. still looks pretty good. A few chips on the bonnet and front bumper that's about it. Overall the car is handling pretty well. The odd stall when the a/c is on does annoy you given its an Auto.
  3. I got some warranty work done at Power Ford last month, they were very understanding and helpful, sadly the same couldn't be said for either City Ford City or Rockdale, have had very bad experiences. Rockdale City ford are a bunch of jokers - I believe they don't even know what a turbo ford is let alone fixing one. For servicing I use Tunehouse as I work in Alexandria so its close by, John and the boys do a good job in pointing out any minor or major details that need fixing.
  4. my BA 04 mkii has just done 70k, I still owe about $28k on the novated lease. looking at the 2nd hand car prices I would be lucky to get $22k for my hgag. love to get a F6 mid next year, if I can afford to offload this one without loosing too much. I do about 25k a year and would like to see off the T before it gets to more than 100k.
  5. Fuel economy was really bad. I had to fill up twice between Sydney and Melbourne. I set my cruise to 109 all the way and still only managed 450km (~60L) per tank. My guess could be the T-MAP sensor.
  6. Took the Drive to Melbourne and back from Sydney over the Christmas break. The car has just done 60k, noticed on the way back, the exhaust tip is very black and when I did give it a bit of a hoot a lot of smoke was coming out in first gear. Can it be the spark plugs or the coils need replacing. The car stalled when I stopped at the lights in Albury (its an Auto ), also have been experiencing rough idle and jerky sensation at varying speeds. Ford did just replace the Fuel pump as the car was cutting out on low fuel. I've been using optimax/vpower for over 6 months and the car has had the EDIT for over 15000 kms now. any ideas or similar experiences?
  7. Glad to see some of you do feel the same. I drive from work to home daily on Parramatta Road and the fastest lane to drive there is the inner left lane. Everyone drives on the right or middle lane which gives others no chance of overtaking. The same applies to the M4, M5, M7 and so on. Why drivers can’t understand such a simple rule is beyond me. Keep to the left regardless of what speed limit the road has, and check your rear view mirror of vehicles that want to overtake you and be courteous enough to make way for faster traffic regardless of what speed they are trying to achieve (it’s their risk if they get caught!) One word of caution, please do head checks when moving to the left lane because I mostly overtake from the left and wouldn’t want to have an ugly incident. I get frequent nightmares of people coming onto my lane without knowing that I exist and as a result I’ll try to react by moving away further left (I hate braking!) and end up hitting the pole or something else on the pavement. BTW who will be a fault if I do end up crashing my car?

    Help Needed

Try to boot in command prompt mode - if its a XP/2000 PC - press F8 when your PC is about to start booting and select the appropriate option. When you are dos mode get to the directory where file is located using the CD command and then use DEL (filename) command to delete the file. If you are not comfortable with DOS then try starting up in Windows Safe Mode using the same F8 key, once windows has loaded open up windows explorer and then try and delete the file.

    Bloody Break In

sorry to hear about it. I had a similar encounter, moved into Sydney from Melbourne a few years ago renting in a villa unit, 3 months in, got broken into from the rear laundry door. The suckers took everthing thing which was remotely looked electronic. Thank God for contents insurance and also the assessor being a good bloke who took care of it very quickly. keep you chin up mate and be confident, you will come good from this.
  11. 14223 with my eyes closed !
  12. Here is the breakdown, revisiting this has brought more frustration and anger. Won't be getting a dealer service done in the future. Probably find someplace else in South Sydney. 45k handbook service Labor: $ 256.50 Washer Solution: $ 1.50 (didn't ask for this) Oil Filter: $ 11.55 Filter Air Cleaner: $ 32.74 (got charged even if I have the BMC which got taken out) Engine Oil: $ 64.81 (5W40) Inhibitors: $ 33.18 Lube/Enviro Levy: $ 21.50 Wait there's more: Rotate tyres/Balance: $ 36.00 Check & tighten Heat Shields: $ 45.00 Injector Service & Solvent: $ 90.00 (reported misfiring) Flush & Condition Steering Oil: $ 80.00 (don't know this was done) Total: $741 inc gst.
  13. I requested the heat shields to be tightened at 45k service 4 weeks ago, the rattle is back and is worse than before. not going to take it back to ford, too much f%$%ing around to drop and pickup and the likelyhood to of picking some other nasty problem. will attempt the fix the rattle myself don't know how though.
  14. I do get the 4 beeps if my T doesn't start on the first crank. Have to wait a few seconds and then crank it again to start it up. Don't think it's worth worrying about as confirmed by others on this post. cheers
