  2. BA Mk2 SSS 241 rwkws. Averaged 110mph/13.1 Secs over 5 runs. Factory 17"Dunlops @ 35PSI

Better question would be whose game enough to see if theory = practice I would reckon close on 280 - 300 Clicks, would also depend on where your rev limiter is now set to, if at all =), and whether the donk and driver can hang on that long. Anything over 200ish is pretty bloody scary I reckon. A quick blast up the Geelong Freeway ought to tell ya Luke
  4. Stock T and XR8 are real similar in performance. ie: aprox 14 sec qtr. Would think a Typhoon and modded 10psi T about lineball. My T as below with the 4 spd SSS, 12.98 with Custom Tune and nothing else. Any Edited T will kill a stock XR8. And gets better mileage when not thrashed! Also the T handles better as its lighter.
  5. Why not go a typhoon donk while he's there, and then keep it Seems at least a couple of typhoons at that wreckers.
  6. For $5000 bucks in mods, you will have a very fast car. You will see well over 300KW at the rears with that cash. Best to spend some of it on stopping it once it's got goin' =)
  7. With really OLD tunes (say 2 years ago), there were issues with the TC disabling itself when the car was given wot. The TC tuning was wrong and if the rear wheels spun (which is the tendency with an Edit'd car), it would disable itself as it couldn't control the wheelspin. Only solution was turn the engine off and then restart again untill next bootful =) Take the "flasher box" back to your tuner, and request he modify the program, unless you have other hardware issues with the ABS Sensors or similar. PS: Traction Control still appears to not work so well at 100km/h in the wet. Be warned!
  8. Consider it as insurance if nothing else. The car will only go harder with a Custom Tune, and you can then feel safer knowing it aint gunna blow up on you when you bury the right foot.
  9. You definitely want to get the Edit Box. Totally transforms the car. (and can negate the factory speed limiter :=) Probably better off ordering from here in Aus where they are pre-loaded with Generic Tunes specifically for these cars. The Edit has been here now for over 2 years, so would be much simpler (and much less expensive) that getting a box and tune locally. You wont believe the difference till you drive it.   10. EB games have a 50% sale on most everything right now. Saw Cars for $25- many other $50 + games at half price. Worth a look.
  11. I myself can also attest to the fact that is doesnt take a whole lot to get one of these cars out of control, especially once modified. I wrote mine off at the age of 40+. Too much boost in an Auto in the wet = Disaster coming your way. Luckily (and that's all it was), no-one was hurt. But I am basically sh!t scared in the wet every time I drive now. One moment if inattention or d!ickheadedness is enough. These cars must be given the respect they deserve.

  13. A tune alone will get you right around the 5 secs or better to 100KM/h. Just the tune will see you right at the 13.0 sec flat Qtr. mile. More than just a tune = even better numbers if you can avoid the wheelspin =) And once you Edit, Engine warranty will be gone if your caught, simple.

    NOD32 for me Lukey boy. Being a little more left field than the big boys, means less of a target for the trojans and other crap that gets around trying to disable it. Also doesnt hog the resources like the big boys. Work offers me free McAfee, and I still wont use the crap ! Alan
  16. Stock BA's are around 195rwkw, edit takes em to about 240ish. Would think the BF would go no better post edit than the BA. Injectors throttle both of them. Not a hope in hell that the BF puts out 255rwkw stock !! Only 245 at the flywheel. But from there, you then need the bigger intercooler, maybe better box ?? (is typhoon and BF T running the same Box), bigger exhaust, bigger injectors, etc. Get the Typhoon and EDIT IT
  17. Guys and Gals, for all the effort and cash you are outlaying for these times, would'nt it be cheaper (and have warranty) to just get a Turbo a tad older then the N/A your driving now. Either way, good on ya for givin it a go. My Futura via a G-Tech clocks around 15.9 at 93mph, for what its worth, and that aint much God I wish I could still afford a T.
  18. I'm running it in a virtual machine. Seems like a toy at this time. Funny that they still give u the option of 'Classic' (read - usefull) in many places. Seems a pointless upgrade to me, except fro point 10 above

    Hell No. At least 5 mins in a BA. Plus, if you manage to stuff it up at the lights, then you may be going nowhere at all. If you want flick of a switch stuff, get an Exeed or whatever their called (Piggyback)
  20. Go the 6 Speed Auto Turbo, unless you really like to row gears. Once you've driven the Turbo, you wont want the Fairmont (N/A) You can always "Edit' the T. Company will never know, except for the tyre bill Al
  21. Why not just buy an Xbox 360 or a PS3.
  22. You better hope he knows what he's doing when he erases just the 1 slot, or you might kiss them all good-bye anyway Better make sure your old tuner still has your tunes on file , just in case. Don't be like me one day with the Wog, he gave me the wrong box after screwing around for a while.
