Good luck Velocity - is it pretty much a given you'll get it? Going full hillbilly with a gun rack on the back window? Can't believe it's Friday already - the weeks lately have been starting real slow and dragging on - then hitting the weekend all of a sudden. By Wednesday I'm over the week already - next thing I know the weekend is upon us.

Looking good for tonight Will be great to meet some faces from here. Am awaiting delivery of my cb's (onboard for delivery today) so will have a couple of new toys to play with tonight Looks like I'll be able to make it on time too. Was going to ask for a hint as to the direction you've got us heading but then realised there could be some very good reasons not to put travel plans/routes online.

Sweet - work out how many for mexican and I'll book. Call me rab - only my mum calls me raband Start or finish at the Mexican is all good - as long as I get time to shop at the chilli shop next door first (they close at 5:30). Likely to be any others tag along? Or does all of S.A. keep well away from you two?

We post in here for the BenDoCo & BiZkets guided tours?

edit: To keep it on topic (sort of) I'll grab some Pitlane business cards to leave at important places during my Adelaide tour

2Nd Power Steering Pump In Less Than 3000Kms
Rab replied to lukebaker99's topic in Suspension and Handling
If the pump is dying from anything that could be called "normal" driving then the issue isn't with the driver - it's the pump. If they keep dying then they'll need to look further afield - to what's causing it to fail. -
I'm good for anytime Friday (after say - midday - sleep-in/checkout etc) Will be hitting up Magill Road for dinner at the Mexican place (was so good last time we were there that we still drool - it's a definite) and also Chile Mojo for some supplies, so either side of that would work from my end - either meet for a bite to eat (or after the meal) and then cruise, or finish the tour in time for some shopping (they close at 5:30) and then dinner. Would be welcome to join us at the table (would probably need to know so I can tell how many to book for though). Ample parking. Either way - if you want to show me round, let me know which part of the day works - will decide where we crash for the Friday night depending on where we end up.

Haha - There was nothing flash about my car to be advertising compared to some of the beasts and builds they've had through there. The advertising my cars worth will be word of mouth and recommendations rather than pics. Unfortunately most of my mates drive Skoda's, so only the forums will be relevant for me. That said - I do have one mate who's started looking for an affordable FPV since he got a taste of mine (stock) Not too sure about there being an empty dyno either - best speak to Bel and once you've worked out what's getting done work out the best dates to have the magic performed. Am heading over to Adelaide on the 19th for a gig on the 20th with my son - would love a catchup on the Friday (21st) or Sat (22nd) before the cruise back to reality if either of those days work. Last time we felt our way through the hills to Hahndorf and the Motor Museum so will probably have a blast through that area again unless you've got some other recommended spots to visit/cruise. Either way - put in the call, decide on the work you're wanting done (take any advice Bel gives) and book in a time. edit: just saw BiZkets post after I posted mine - I took a long time to hit send. Can I leave it to you guys to plan an itinerary for me?
-
Oooh - almost forgot the important bit (I know dyno sheets aren't everything, but it deserves to be put up just for the time Mick spent on it getting it perfect) Plus: it means I can now post in the 300+ club

Definitely So much smoother ramping up the boost now - pulls heaps harder, but is far more linear that it was. Instead of a short, sharp push back in the seat it's now a stronger, longer, earlier and more consistent push back A lot less violent (or on/off) than when it was stock so to speak. Also the fact that my drive to work in the mornings (less than 2kms) will mostly be on the purging/petrol stage unless I wait longer than the actual drive itself takes for it to switch over. - If I base it on that I'll be getting 500kms out of a tank Am tossing up whether to run the petrol tune for during the week (mostly very short trips) solely for that reason. The trip to Adelaide in a couple of weeks will give me a far better read (of highway useage).

A few more extractions and we can get a set like this guy:

2Nd Power Steering Pump In Less Than 3000Kms
Rab replied to lukebaker99's topic in Suspension and Handling
Depending how long ago it was replaced I'd be pushing for warranty again. The new pump should have its own warranty outside the expired new car warranty. -
Will do. Filled it up after I left and zero'd the odometer - will keep a log for a while

Sorry everyone. I'll be the cause of the torrential rain over the next few days and the weekend. Just picked the car up :D Thanks heaps to Mick, Bel, Andrew and everyone at Pitlane for making damn sure everything was done the way it was meant to be, spending the time explaining each step and the extra effort you guys put in. Definitely got a lot more pull throughout the rev range now, yet still drives like a comfy, cruisey family sedan when off the gas. Haven't had a chance for a decent drive yet (had to return to the office), but will definitely report more as I have a bit of a play.

Lets call it flake It's cheap, so wasn't worth a mention.

Love a Sunday arvo when I can sink a few tinnies and watch other people work. Hate it more than anything else when I'm the one working and the ones watching are meant to be putting in too. Especially if they're offering advice at the same time.
-
Fark - 2nd time you've yelled Key above the left shift key is the first bit of advice I can give. As asked above - has box been tuned? Have you spoken to the person who built the box? Chances are he'll know exactly what needs to be done. He probably built it to your specs originally - just needs to adjust the build now that you've worked out that what you asked for is a little different to what you really wanted.
-
Lol - the last time before the root canal she (female this time) was doing an extraction - ended up pushing the tooth up into my sinuses. Spent 6 months with a tooth rattling in behind my nose and a hole in my mouth I could draw air through with my mouth closed. The the op to get it out - left me looking like the elephant man for another month. Any wonder I hate dentists? edit: and no - Blues through and through - still got all my front teeth
-
Bugger all. You really need to look further afield than just Dags's tumbler account (not that there's any reason to)
-
Yeah - This one has given so much trouble it's got to go.
-
$858 for a broken turbo manifold bolt? I guess it's not just the bolt they're replacing? I'd be asking them to fix the turbo oil leak, and, while they're down there to put in a new bolt?
-
Actually - more interested in buying the double pack of the same unit $249 and it'll save on the costs of SMS's at home when one of the kids wants me to check under the bed for spiders (and when cruising with friends)

Toothache starting. Same tooth the dentist botched a root canal on and drilled into a raw nerve. Never, ever could I have imagined the instant, electrifying pain that caused. Even the dentist turned white. I passed out the next time I went back to have the botched job repaired from the bottle of scotch and handful of oxy/vicodin I took to calm me enough to go back. Now - the same friggin tooth has started aching - and it's getting worse. This is the one with the nerve that has been diagnosed as "definitely dead" twice before now. This time I'm not going back until the pain is so bad that I'd rather return than go on with it. This time - when he starts drilling I'm going to be holding his gonads real tight, so if he hits a nerve it hurts him at least as much as it hurts me.

Any random CB from dick smith etc would work? (last time I played with a CB I was in primary school) edit: This one looks like it'd do the job?
