  1. As the others have said mate, sorry to hear the sad news. I too hope that it is all soughted out as best a possible for the both of you. Hopefully you both take away some memories of happier times and try to remember that the things that you have each shared and learned from each other are worth a lot more and will stay with you both longer than material things and money.

Some of the guys have removed the blow off valves and run without them, it gives the fully sick dose pipe sound without one. It is your car Nos, if you like the purge set up go for it.
  3. If you are still looking at staying with Ford, why not consider an upgrade to a ute with a 6 speed auto in it. Less problems there.
  4. I am sure there was a hole in the block but there is no way that the bill for a new engine would be anywhere near $13,000, even from Ford, closer to around 6k if it needed head work done. My cooler is huge and 100mm thick too, the temp still sits under half way.
  5. Welcome to the ute club, it looks great mate, enjoy. My BA didn't come with T\C so burnouts are mandatory!
  6. Yeah come on boys, it's a great weekend!
  7. He didn't say he got flogged, just that it kept up with him, the Aurion runs a low 15 (15.3) I think Wheels got out of one. Depending on gearing and what that particular T is putting out, is it that hard to believe? Take the eye patches off guys and open the other one. Spend a couple of grand on each though and the result will be very different so who cares.
  8. weight can make a BIG difference to a cars performance. If the Aurion starts off a good 100kg lighter and you have more weight in the xr6 t even another 50 odd kilos (Over the 3 people and boot). Your extra 40 fwkw will be eaten away very quickly. The 6 speed would more than likely have shorter gearing too and that would help in the straight line off the lights. That's why guys strip cars to run faster 1/4 mile times because bang for your buck weight loss is the best performance mod you can do. Rememer the T can vary anything upto 20 rwkw from factory to, some are just slower than others, that is mass production for you.
  9. The American version is different to the Australian version, I have looked into it before.
  10. Yeah mate, about 16 psi from memory, I have now have an atomic bottom end, it does allow for more fun!
  11. That looks very good Danny well done it's nice and strong, it must be very satisfying being able to tune your own car. I had a quick look through my dyno sheets from HPF as I thought that would be a good comparison for you. Considering they are renowed for some very quick 1/4 mile cars, it gives you an idea of where you are at. I am not sure if that was finished tune at the time but it was the closest graph I could find that I have with max rwkw close to yours. Cheers, Dean
  12. Don't forget to get yourself some Gates fuel hose to replace the factory ones from the pump / swirl pot if you are going to replace it yourself.

There are more moderators than members reading this thread. lmao. Oh my ute would whip a GTR in a straight line too. The GTR driver could not possibly see through all my tyre smoke to see where he is going.

I see bcl, reading the thread now. I would be interested in your opinions Brian, having had as many turbos over the years as yourself?
  17. You will not get an auto to hold out at the power levels required to run a 10 sec pass. You would need to replace with and old school 3 speed.
  18. So Jules, How about those roads and infrastructure?
  19. Yeah mine went too at 70,000 but I just upgraded to an external gate at the time.
  20. I'm on box 8! My ute is heavy though, and that doesn't help
  21. Your problem is exactly the reason why I and others try to discourage people from trying to falsely claim warranty on modded cars. It just makes it soooooo much harder for the genuine people to claim when the time comes. Goodluck
  22. Not many Crappydoores at the pointy end this year. See what happens when they have to race a car thay actually exists and isn't purpose built for the race.
  23. C'mon someone chop a T with one of those please!

I missed this thread till today somehow. Well done Deek, I'm with Daz I would have run you up to get it. (I have clients in Bowral, Tax Write off!) It must be us Vic boys in a our utes wanting to travel all over the country side. Good luck with it, when does it go to Nizpro? Tuesday?
