  1. So far I've put some pioneer TS-D1602R in the front and they have made a marked improvement to the listening quality even with the factory ICC.
  2. Basically the AU didn't have half the electronic stuff that the B series onwards have. Therefore your wolf computer will not support this electronic stuff (vehicle security is what it is cant really elaborate on that, other stuff is traction control etc. The ICC talks to lots of things to allow the car to work that's part of security) The X3 and HP software supports everything due to using the factory ECU.
  3. Could it be done in place if the radiators are removed?
  4. Depends on the difference in rolling diameter between front and rear, there is a limit to what the car will allow before it gets upset.
  5. A wreckers should have one, I think they want about $600 for the whole unit (that's not dual climate though, price is year old from CHCH wrecker).
  6. I thought the limiter was already at 6200. Also is it possible in the tune to soften the limiter as such to stop it smashing the gears, or even soften the traction control limiter. Had mine reving from 6-7000 the other night and my limiter hasn't been altered and it didn't limit at all so I don't know what the ECU was up to.
  7. Turn this yellow and you'll see what its like.
  8. Was it definitely your engine light, not a traction light flashing at you. (just asking since you stated it happened when taking off from lights.)
  9. Ummm get a manual, only hits the limit if you forget to change then. Not uncommon for an auto to be a bit slow on the change at times.
  10. If you don't replace it with the factory one (or one with the same flow) you may have issues with overboost and going into limp mode. pretty sure the ford one is quite expensive.
  11. Only difference in the vehicles will be the engine, ford Expensive Daewoo with the pushrod and nissan merc with a quad cam I think.
  12. Injectors can make ticking noises quietly, better replace them.
  13. Sometimes when I'm overly tired and go into a really deep sleep I do that sleep on the arm thing and awake with the old dead arm. But best of had somehow slept face down slightly on both arms and awoke with two dead arms, now imagine yourself trying to flop yourself over onto your back to get use of your arms back. When your in bed its quite hard and you really have to through your whole body. I don't recommend it.
  14. Has anyone else noticed that the powerplay type event from aussie has come to NZ, end of this year (fri, sat, sun 28,29,30 december) Kiwinats will be held at Ruapuna. Event has powercruise, powerskids, 200m drags but with street rules, and a lot of other stuff. If you google kiwinats you'll find it. Anyone going?
  15. Took these out And put these in

    Towing

With the lowered part and then a trailer to add some weight the only thing to consider is driveshaft angle, unlike the sedan with IRS where the CV's come into it, the ute with a live axle seems to accept alot of things that upset a sedan.

    Towing

I have towed a car transporter and car that would have come into a similar weight as your stating, and my ute is lowered. Only problem I'd see is if the trailer is designed to be hooked on a high towball as the trailer will then be on a downwards angle. Did it fine without any problems (6spd man), however I was towing in the wet and had to stop in traffic on a bridge and start again and needless to say it crabbed for a while trying to sort its traction out and that was with traction control on. With the electric brakes there should be a separate controller that you have connected up and you can change the brake force and also lock them out for reverse I believe. Meant to be alot better than the shunt type system as you can alter the force so if doing a steep downhill crank it up so the vehicle isn't doing all the work.
  19. Oil pressure will jump around as it increases with revs due to not being a set regulated system. It I beleive can bypass for overpressure thou. In the BF (prob same in fg) when the oil is up to operating temp at idle the min is 17psi and at 2000rpm min is 43psi.
  20. If you cant drive it on maybe backwards on from the towbar. Pretty sure all the tow points would cause the wire to pull against part of the body as they are under the vehicle. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know why they don't have a popout in the front bumper to fit a hook.
  21. If you cant look at whats there and figure out how to install the new one then maybe you shouldn't be doing it yourself.
  22. I thought the fg had a actual ipod type plug in the centre console.
  23. It could be the injectors. Hard to tell from the video, doesn't seem overly loud when your video starts.
  24. Sounds like your talking about the coldside pipe from the cooler to the intake manifold. Some of them retain the stock crossover so run the pipe from the aftermarket cooler back infront of the engine to the crossover whereas others come through the stock airbox area and straight to the manifold.
  25. They are illegal due to the possibility that you may release emissions into the atmosphere without them first going through your exhaust system. In saying that the only emissions will be if your turbo has got issues and is burning oil in the compressor side otherwise your only ever releasing hot air.
