Back in the early 80's we were cruising in my mates XY fairmont, we headed out west from Cairns for a weekend of highspeed driving. On the second day on the way home about 200km west of Kidston on an obscure road, with no petrol station to be found, we ran out of fuel. No problem just call the RACQ on the mobile (except mobile phones haven't been invented yet). We walked for miles looking for a house, with no luck at all, we headed back to the car. After one and a half days with no passing traffic; and out of hot beer, but a boot full of tools and plenty of thinking time. 'The light bulb came on". We emptied the boot accessed the petrol tank fuel pick up, bent the pipe down until it hit the bottom of the tank, thus were able to scavange the remaining fuel in the tank. Drove about 20 km to the nearest house; and the rest is HISTORY.... Have you had the worst BREAKDOWN ever. <<<<POST AND LET US KNOW YOUR STORY>>>>
