Long time Ford convert.10 years in Holdens.20 years in Fords.When your balls drop and your voice breaks you start looking at Fords.

Just trying to work out where two tuners in SA are 150 km apart?Must be one in the riverland coz the rest are in Adelaide.

Agreed- sounds soft on my XR8 too-maybe hotdogs instead of the centre muffler would sound better.The stainless system is very good quality stuff though..........

Just got back from the race.........................The red boys were pretty mouthy when only two Fords qualified in the top 10.They were awefully quiet when nana nose hit the wall and dead silent when CL hit the front I hope tomorrow is just as good or better.

Phoon or GT?A choice I will be making in the not too distant future.A vexing choice.Resale on GT's appears to be slightly better.Rwkw in the latest Perford mag is GT 247, Phoon 225,but if modded we all know which one will end up faster for less money. Over a long period of ownership,say 6 plus years,I have a feeling that the GT might be the fresher car. Saying that because we owned an EB XR8 that did 160,000 kms and it was truly almost like new in every way. However the Phoon is the real drivers car and the GT perhaps more the cruiser.The head says Typhoon and the heart says GT in my case.The phoon looks more hi tech and the GT looks like a traditional aussie musclecar?Still undecided.Whichever one you choose may have you wondering if you should have bought the other.,but they're both great cars.

I'd rather see a dyno sheet.

Perhaps try a different tuner/dyno to be certain that you actually have 290-300 to begin with.I'd say you need injectors and springs to get 290-300 in the first place,but I could be wrong ........Anyone?

I own both.XR8 drinks a bit more.We do mostly country km's.City driving?Couldn't say

I own both.I like both.The turbo feels lighter but with a more drivetrain vibration and engine resonance.The V8 is a lot smoother and feels like a much more solid and integrated car.Mine are both lightly modded. Potential to go fast? XR8 capa blower,edit and exhaust 7-8 grand? XR6T ic, edit,injectors and valve springs about half that. XR8 with headers and exhaust kills a turbo for exhaust note,almost worth buying for that alone.XR8 handles very well but Turbo handles better.What would I buy next time?Probably another V8.They have a whole different; more substantial feel and an XR8 with a blower- who cares about turbos.

Stillwell Ford in Adelaide are advertising Mk2 XR8's for 41,900 inc on road ie drive awayNot sure if they are brand new or demo's.Seems like pretty good value either way.

Both colours are stunning.Check out Mr Turbo's car...very sharp.I saw a BFGT in Toxic with black stripe kit and 19" factory wheels recently.....in the metal.It blew me away,parked amongst other GT's of varying colours;it was the standout car.

Hii aniken.This is a horizontal borer with a pipe feed attached?As opposed to digging a trench and laying the pipe in it?Sewer main perhaps? Had a contract repairing lansdcape damage for a civil engineering company putting in sewerage mains(converting from septic tanks) across peoples backyards.They had a horizontal borer they used when they absolutely could not trench with a JCB.Trenching is slower- ie excavate,layer of packing sand,two men in the trench fitting pipe,check falls and then backfill. Horizontal borer is quicker,much quicker.I recall a run of 250 metres done in maybe 4 hours in plasticy clay.Horizontal borer is very expensive though and the pipe has to be made up in advance- ie plastic welded sections so that the whole length is ready to go. I'd ask my mate who's a supervisor with the company(jobs for the boys ) but he's in NZ atm. Borer- quicker but dearer. p.s.Rock with a trench can be got at with a rock breaker whereas the borer can be stopped by rock and has to be re-routed.
