Just a question for those who know. Can a unichip be removed easily by the average punter without having an effect on the car?
-
Just a quick reminder, this is still happening Sunday from 10-2pm. It will be very informal so there is no need to polish the car! There will be soft drinks and lunch provided.

love them! This one is a "classic"!

Trained wankers.. hmm lets not start this again. The best approach is go in there knowing what you want. If you don't, ask questions. If the saleperson doesn't give you the time of day, then walk out. Simple as that. There are plenty of good dedicated people in the industry who work very hard and don't need to labeled as wankers. After all it is a job. Microphones are illegal as one former Sydney dealer found out, Tony Parkard Motors to be exact. He is no longer around. The only people that may do this is your small backyard operator, and no I'm not making any accusations.

18.95%??? you cannot be serious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I use to work in the automotive finance industry and we did loans from 3.99% promotional packages up to 25%.... yes 25%!!!! so it does happen.... any1 that says it doesnt are wrong depends on the applicant... finance works the same way as business... the more you can get the more you will profit.... If your stupid enough to sign up at 11% 15% 18% or anything else well that is your own stupidity.... but to think no1 tries to sell finance at these rates is wrong. If the dealer offers you 10% and tells you his doing you a favour, do you believe him and accept it or do you say that you want better?? 18% definately happens <{POST_SNAPBACK}> jetute, it may be the case with some financial instituations but it would be very rare. My fiance does motor vehicle finance and the highest rate she has ever given is 16%. It was for a $6000 loan on a 12yr old car. The more you borrow the lower the rate so new car buyers will always have a very goo rate.

Thanks Turbo6man. To be honest Typhoons points that were accurate, were pointed out but it mostly seems like he knows something and then abit of ad lib. The way each individual salesperson works is different, they all have a choice as do customers. So this whole thread was quite pointless as it mis-informed many. And on a final note, Typhoon was the one who started the thread about the F6 Typhoon doing 0-100 in 5.23 and 13.03sec for 0-400m because he "knows someone"..... how's that for credibility.

Why don't you elaborate on what this workbook actually is. If it's just the dealer you worked for then obviously not every dealer will have that attitude. I have never seen any workbook or training sessions with such nonsense. But please feel free to elaborate on this "workbook". I have workbooks from training sessions which I am happy to scan just for you and show you what is really being drummed into the heads of sales staff these days, ie customer satisfaction, and repeat business. Not what you claim. If you don't answer any of my posts then YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. So please enlighten us all with a response to my posts with facts not hogwash. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not all dearlerships are the same. This is not a trianing book if you read the post carefully I state its out of MY owen workbook not a companys Yes what I have posted are worst case issues. not everyday. I worked for the largest ford dealer in s.a You are stupid to say dealers wont try to make 100/200/500/1000% profit its in there best intrest and sales managers get paid on bottem line so shut up there I have responded to some of your crap I will respond to no more. you sound like a typical sales man/women doing 65hrs a week give it a rest mate I`m not trying to start a war here, I made $52000 dollers in the car game in my first year not inc the company car and I did not do it buy doing load deals I was pused buy the men above me to FUCG the public over. I dont know what small town country dearler you might work for but we were doing 165cars a month from one yard, so dont you sit there on your sh.t ass key board and tell me IM HAVE GOT IT ALL WRONG! Oh and buy the way when I left the company they made sure every Training book I had was taken from me WONDER WHY. So dont post anymore ok any old sales men/women could pick my post to bits I know its not flawless. :pooh head <{POST_SNAPBACK}> don't tell me to shut up after your crap, and please continue with your enlightening responses. Certain products in over the parts counter may have a 100% mark up, but hey you are the consumer and you can decide to go elsewhere. The market determines prices just as much as dealers do. I work for Sydney's second largest Ford dealer group, Peter Warren Ford (in Smithfield to be exact) so don't tell me I sit here on my sh!t ass sh!t for brains. We do 60- 80cars with 5 staff. And I have the freedom of being able to browse forums such as this one, direct from the dealer priciple himself. You not trying to start a war! After you first post here what did you expect?

Cars, like all things cost money. It costs money to get them shipped to dealers. It costs money to get the prepared, you know the guys/girls you don't see out the back fitting your accessories, detailing it and generally making sure it's roadworthy. Some dealers have set margins on their used cars. You know the stuff they call profit. Some don't. New cars have a margin set by the manufacturer and the dealer is not obligated to follow this. But look, you seem to really know your stuff so next time you buy a new car go and speak to Wheels/ Motor I'm sure they can sell you one. And next time you want to trade, heck take it the Glasses guide I hear they pay top dollar. I go out to people if they need assistance, and it's riiiight in my comfort zone. If we're spiders you are an annoying itch. If you feel that I don't know what I am talking about you are free to browse other Ford related sites and see what people say about how I do things.

As an current (and upto date) employee of the industry I feel obliged to respond. They are a business and businesses survive by making profit if you weren't aware. These days it's all about repeat business, therefore customers MUST be looked after. 18.95%??? you cannot be serious. If the wheel/tyre package trade price is $1500, no one is stupid enough to pay $3800. If cars are wholesaled it is usually at a small profit even a small loss. Wholesalers are called that for a reason These people you speak of are human beings that happen to sell cars as a job. You do IT, if someone dicked you around making things difficult how would you feel? The days of pressuring for a sale is numbered. I have been to official sales training courses where we were taught it's best to leave people to make a decision at their own pace, otherwise they will go elsewhere. You started off well, nothing wrong with being assertive. But the sales system is a guide only. It basically is : Approach, Qualify, Appraisal, Demonstration, Sale. A customer must first be qualified to determine what they actually want, if they're trading in a vehicle etc. It is then up to the salesperson to build a relationship with the customer hopefully resulting in two happy parties. So you're saying that you can just show up, tell the salesperson to stand aside, take the keys to a car (and not actually be told what all the features and benefits are), drive it and then ask for a card?? You are deluded. How about I take your car for a spin without you when you want to sell it. You are then the type that won't buy the car you just test drove because it has been thrashed. Once again you start of well. The end of financial year is actually a good time as many businesses need to spend some money to minimise their tax bill. So what does a plumber do when he realises he needs to spend $40k? He'll go and buy a new ute. How is this the case? Every used car is different. Km, service history, accident history, amount of rego left, and a close inspection means that even two of the same cars may be worth a different amount. We don't test drive customers cars either. Dealerships need used cars to sell, a salesperson may find it more difficult to sell a car if there is a trade, but the dealership wants good quality used cars. That depends on who you deal with. A true valuation reflects what the car can be resold for Blimey, that is the first deadset good advice you have given You are treading on thin ice mate. Factory towbars, alarms, wheels, CD stackers are covered under warranty. But suite yourself. 100-200% mark up on wheels and tyres!!?? You are kidding. 1000% on paint and fabric protection?? So you are saying that paint/ fabric protection costs the dealer $1.50? So the product itself plus the people that apply the products cost $1.50. There goes any credibility your post had. Of course look after your best interests, but try and get 8.95% or less as most dealers would give a good customer, elsewhere. It's possible but not too common. So it's wrong for people to try and earn a good living? Once again your argument here is flawed. This warranty you speak of is generally is part of the deal and factored in to the cost of the car. This cost is approximately $400-$600. So go ahead and tell the dealer that you don't want it and save $600, but then be prepared to pay the full $2500 to have your transmission fixed. Do your research and ask questions if a dealer doesn't disclose it upfront. If you purchase a warranty, like the 3yr used car warranty the items covered are limited. You have already been through this. An extended new car warranty is just that, an extention of your new car warranty which covers everything other than things like brake pads, clutches etc. If you buy a car with some new car warranty left wouldn't you service it at a reputable dealer anyway? It will avoid issues later if something goes wrong. If you service your car at your local ultra tune or your favourite mechanic and something major goes wrong, will ultra tune or your mechanic repair a fault under their warranty? Now that my friend is complete bullsh*t and you know it. Read your new car warranty guide and speak to your dealer. Squeaks, rattles and leaks will continue to be repaired under warranty till the 3yrs/100000km is up. Unless these rattles/ squeaks are an obvious result of carelessness/abuse they will only then not be covered. It's all common sense.

The next Falcon will not look like that. Doors to a point will be similar as they have the same styling theme as the Territory doors.

Without any disrespect, Dr Z I know you are a pretty intelligent guy because we have met so there is no doubt in my mind that what you say is very well thought out. But one thing I must say is that the issue here is not so much that the F6 is not what it was meant to be. it's that the FPV V8's were not uprated in power for MkII that has caused the F6 to be the scapegoat. You have posted the same things on a number of threads in this forum as well as others. The extra cost of the F6 is justifyied if you calculate all the extra added benefits/ features the Typhoon has over an XR6 T. Add them up and you'll see what I mean. And let me tell you having driven one from City Ford to Peter Warren Smithfield on a 40deg day in December it is a better allround performance package than the Turbo. And yes I own a MkI XR6 Turbo myself! There is a big difference between the two in everyway, handling, mid-range grunt, stopping power, interior ambience amongst other things. The best thing to do is to drive one when the opportunity becomes available and then reassess your view on the car.

To be honest Dagabond they all seem quite high for a standard car. And as it has been said many times before they should only be used as a rough guide, just too many variables and possible adjustments to use figures as fact. My car put out 193rwkw and it is a manual. Even that seemed alittle high.

WRX>WRX STI =27kw

Very well said MYF6.

Guys/ gals, I just want to confirm that Sunday the 30th of Jan is locked in. To everyone that has put their hand up I want to get exact numbers so I will count you in unless you let me know you can't make it. See you all there! Dean

Aww I'm blushing. Yeah I quite like them, it makes me happy and that's all that matters.
-
Are we meeting at any particular area? I'll be there about 7:15pm.

As xrdreaming stated it comes down to the nature of the problem. Honesty goes a long way too and remember that in the warranty handbook it states that modifications do not void warranty unless a fault is directly a result of a modification.

Thanks guys. Didn't see it.
