  1. No pics yet Dave, I'll see what I can do. Yeah it can keep up to a point but I believe the geniii would have gotten me if we kept going. But I'm happy with that as the XT has just on 2000 kliks so it's still not run in properly yet.
  2. Grange shouldn't be a problem, the ss depends on how good you launch, the Maloo may be the one that can get you.
  3. Yep it has that problem. Basically if you accelerate hard through to the cutout in second it will not go into third. You have to back off the accelerator before it will go in. It is very frustrating as you lose too much time. I had an embarrasing situation when I had a quick run with a mate of mine who has a VXII SS. Through first and second we were even and then I lost half a car length before I got into third and then we remained relatively even. It'll have to be checked when it goes in for its 3000km first service. It has 2000km now.
  4. I drive a V8 XT in manual and it is limited to 5250rpm. It's very underated in it's performance as well as how much fun it actually is. The only gripe is that when drinving hard through the gears 3rd is a real b**ch to get into unless you back off alittle.
  5. There is a clause in the Ford new car contract that states that if the manufacturer raises the price prior to delivery the dealer has the right to pass this on to existing deals. It usually won't happen but it can.
  6. Great news Genebaby! Any pics?
  7. Yes it could save you thousands but so can an individual buyer.
  8. 1% from January will be in affect. Prestige Paint has already gone up from $255 to $315.
  9. I got 6 grand off my car doing exactly that. I got 2 grand off a fridge and washing machine doing that. I got 500 off my tv doing that. I got 300 of my camera doing that. I get 100 off most of the cheaper CB radio's I buy, more for the expensive ones. Each to their own, but I know how to haggle, and I always come out in front. Yes each to there own and well done on getting great prices on those various items. But you may have also gotten those prices at the one dealer if you really wanted to. Out of curiosity, did you buy the car through a national fleet co? Because the dealer would have made $0 based on a discount of $6000.
  10. The on-road costs consist of: Registration CTP insurance Stamp Duty Dealer Charges Rego and CTP will vary state to state, city or rural and the type of vehicle whether it's business or private. Stamp duty is 3% of the price of a vehicle (to the nearest hundred) after any discounts up to $45000 and 5% from $45001 onwards. For example, lets say a car is $46000 (+ orc), the stamp duty is $1350 for the first $45000 and $50 for the next $1000 which brings it to $46000. Dealer chargers vary from dealer to dealer but generally from $1300 to $1600. And you also pay GST on dealer charges but not CTP or Rego.
  11. Cro, that has got to be the worst advice you could give! No offence intended. Dealers will not discount the T a great deal if at all. Going around and pitting one against the other will only burn you. Dealers do talk to each other and if you haggle long enough they will all know about you and then you will definately not get a better price. The best approach is to go to the dealer where the salesman is most helpful and be honest if he is because there isn't that much money in new cars and at the end of the day they are there to earn a living just like the rest of us.

Not the case. They are both relatively difficult to get a hold of.
  13. Great stuff Steve. Love the pics and keep the info coming!
  14. I cannot resist the BA V8 Nick! It will be an awesome looking car once I am done with it. :D
  15. Hi Simon, Don't be affraid. I currently own a 98 SSS Pulsar but will purchase a BA XT V8 next year. It is good for Ford to see interest from such a broad base anyway! Dean
  16. Hello all, I drove a Futura last month and honestly it didn't feel as "heavy" as I thought it would. It sure had some grunt too considering the weight. Anyway great forum guys! I can see it become more popular very quickly. Dean
