  1. looking good john, next time your up the tablelands will have to try and meet up for a look. Are you able to show the beast at the all ford day at mareeba on Saturday June 5
  2. seen on the front page of the cairns post today that Chooka is in trouble and is having to sell off his collection of cars. Sad day
  3. I put rapids hot side pipe on my turbo and got a instant response in the throttle and all ok on a dyno run afterwards on std tune with k&n filter and f6 intake.
  4. I got the f6 snorkle, k&n Filter, had new valve springs, injectors and waste gate actuator, hot side piping and and netted 272kw on 95 premium fuel, std exhaust and I/cooler.
  5. go for it dillz, I've been without my t for a week while the auto was rebuilt and missed it big time. A toyota starlet does not go like a modded turbo at all
  6. well I pickup up my car today after having the auto rebuilt and the tuner has fixed the tune so it will run ok at cold start. I will post some pics later of the bands that came out of the auto, they are really stuffed.
  7. hey just had a thought, you could swap motors with that old thing in the shed at the moment.
  8. geezz mate I hope my bad luck hasn't rubbed off on you, I had to rebuild my auto and it is now at the tuners having the cold start problem fixed.
  9. just had my std 03 ba xr6 turbo with 4spd auto tuned, before I tuned it, it had a k&n filter and F6 cold air intake and made 179kw. I had valve springs done, bigger injectors and the turbo waste gate upgraded and that netted 272 kw with the std fuel pump and intake system. I will need to upgrade the intercooler and fuel pump to get any more power.
  10. I never got any noise from my BOV since I got the car, when I got my tune the other week a turkey seems to have moved under my bonnet. Not sure how long the std valve will last with 15psi behind it.
  11. Hey sideways82, my mate has a f6 and said his stock blow off valve was playing up and he just sprayed some wd40 in it to free it up. I had mine off the other week and looking up the bottom you can see the piston sealing on the base, it should be all the way down and you should be able to push it up a bit, it has quite a strong spring behind it. I want to get a turbo smart kompact blow off valve to replace it soon.
  12. have not installed gauges in the dash myself, but there is a grommet on the passenger foot well that you can pass wires throu.
  13. Wasn't even giving it much. Just lost drive and reved out to redline, and then only had 1st ,2nd gears. I might have a lead on a low mileage box from a wreck to get me back on he road quickly.
  14. pity I cant come. I got my car tuned last week picked it up on Thursday and blew the auto on Saturday. Was fun while it lasted
  15. sounds like a tuning problem, mine is real quik straight off the mark and I only have the f6 intake and k&n panel filter with stock tune. just got it back today from the tuners and it is a real rocket now, pulls even harder and wants to break traction from standstill.
  16. I've seen on youtube a I6 AU motor that was turbo charged in a 66 mustang. me I want to put a F6 motor in a 69 mustang with the modern running gear to go with it.
  17. could be right, if you are only changing the top of the thermostat. My Toyota starlet has a rubber ring around the thermostat to seal it, so I would think the ford would be the same.
  18. fruck that's some bad weather , I'm lucky that it rarely hails in far north qld, and if it does they are so small that they dont damage anything. but we do have to contend with cyclones like cyclone larry, and the other week a small twister struck a farm 5 minutes from from my house in Atherton. Who said they only hit America.
  19. Looking good mate.
  20. They are 3" tips, and I love the way the look on this car.
  21. I got the tips from a exhaust shop in townsville on charters towers rd a couple of years ago. I liked the twin pipe outlet look better then the standard tip.
  22. Mate I had the tip on my BA changed, you have to cut it off Behind chrome tip as it is welded to the pipes coming out of the muffler. Had 2 titanium tips welded on and they look hot with the phantom color on my car. Will try to up a pic tomorrow when I get back from work.
  23. I have a toe bar on the turbo and was thinking about removing it. What I'm not sure about is if I have to remove the bumper to take it off or just undo the bolts and drop the muffler and slide it out. Any one have a idea on the subject.
  24. it did have a few tuning problems to start with and it did destroy itself.
  25. Yep that's the beast, he let the missis drive it last year on the way back from cookie and she managed to give him a scare. (he said to her, give a bit, not thinking that she would, and she gave it a boot full, I think that there might be a dent under the go fast peddle now.
