I started at TDC of No #1 cylinder. All 4 marks aligned as per pics above. I thought that after 38 rotations of the crank all 4 should be back in the same spot aligned as per the pics, or am I reading the WSM wrong?

I've never rotated it 37 times to worry about it. I get the chain on the sprocket correctly at the bottom. Ensuring the second mark lines up with the link right in the middle of the sprocket as above, then get the cams in.

First go I always get the sprocket out by 1.

Look from the same angle as this photo is taken and ensure your sprocket and the link is in the same spot. Eg the inner edge of the sprocket outer is right through the middle of the link.

Well got it back together and started it.................Sounded like it had a top fueller cam in it! Started it a couple of more times and it was fine. I am assuming it need the oil to come back up into the phasers at reasonable pressure. Now she is fine!!

Thank you to everyone who helped out, this forum rocks!!
