There is good quality 3M product which will not effect the dash - I think its called "clip lock". I have recently remove the sticky velcro with no evidence that it was ever there.

I just have mine sitting in the ipod dock below where the tissue box holder is With a short custom made 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable going to my home made aux in.

Was flicking through the "Motion" Ford magazine and noticed an Ipod or MP3 audio input 'accessory' from Ford in the "Personalise Your Ford" section. RRP is $146. The picture shows a hand holding an Ipod but not the actual input.

Was wondering if anyone knew about this accessory from Ford. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I know about it...

It will allow you to plug in any 3.5mm stereo plug audio source. EG, Ipod, laptop, walkman.

It is basically a booster for the standard version AUX port. The standard one is about $30. The $130 one will seem to have less whine and will be much louder.

IMHO I would buy neither. Message shockF6 and ask for his shockBox it will do a much better job not only boosting the signal but also filtering a lot lot lot more of the whine. The ShockBox is priced in a similar range as the ford one.

I've been off the computer so I missed this thread. I have mine in the glove-box controlled by a Harmon/Kardon drive+play.

The controller knob mimics the iPod controls. There are four buttons and the outer-ring scrolls the menus. The signal is amplified through the main unit under the dash and it has outputs for either the Aux input or through the built-in FM modulator.

It cost a bit ($300) but I find it very easy to use.

Conexus is the distributor. I emailed them and they told me of a local store who could sell me one. Conexus even emailed the retailer to let them know I was coming.

streetwise.com.au has it for sale. Check under iPod accesories -> in-car accessories.

I assume most Apple resellers should be able to get them.

this seems like a great product, and I'm actually waiting for mine to be delivered. how is the control knob mounted?...as mine might need to be in a different location as the 6sp auto doesnt have as much surface area as the manual around the shifter.

That is the coolest in-car solution, without having to rip apart the dash, that I've ever seen. I would also like to know the steps you went through to install this product. Now, to find one...
