Nice choice in rim size on the rears, I hope to go tens in the future aswell.. atm Im happy to have it wheel spin in 3rd and 4th as if I go wider tyres I fear the clutch will become an issue or the extra load on the motor will cause it to fail somehow..

What did the new clutch set you back for the unit itself?

Mine on 10.5" spins in 3rd and fourth already haha. But getting it de tuned to a nice tune that Bruce said will still flog hard and won't spin as easy.

Picked up my unit for 840$ brand new. Bought the AFP bolts for the flywheel and pressure plate also. (I think it's AFP) but the stock ford bolts are horse sh1t. And clutch has been set up perfectly this time by my mechanic. CV performance f*cked the previous clutch up. It wasn't shimmed 100%

But jeez that's cheap for the clutch setup!..

How does the car drive with the button clutch? Obviously its suited for the power level too.. yeah?

^This? or was it a fluid leak that killed it like you alluded to earlier? I have an Opt5 in my car and cannot fault it.

Don't get into the habit of slipping the button extreme. It will weld itself to the flywheel in no time if you do,

TBH, I was looking at buying an opt. 5 clutch next up.. surely the clutch slave failed or the line came loose and sprayed sh*t everywhere and killed it or something.. in saying that though there would have been sfa peddle, I would have thought.

As far as I've been following his cars progress (in here and SA members) it was a leak that screwed it up

Apparently the Malwood option 5 in it ATM wasn't 100% set up properly when CV performance did it for some reason. Something about the shims and uneven wearing.

If its the clutch I've been told that a typhoon clutch is the way to go because it's not a organic clutch like the Malwood it's a ceramic clutch which can deal with the heat. The Malwood is only good once it's set up properly. But in saying that it's just an organic clutch which is wierd.... Kinda pointless of Malwood to make these in organic I would think.

Hi guys a bit of an update on my CLUTCH problem! Ended up the clutch had been completely burnt out by some hydraulic oil I think.

Have been talking to a lot of people in deciding the clutch to go for now and this one has had some very good remarks. A lot of typhoon drag cars are using this clutch and say that Malwood is an extremely varnished and over rated brand. Also the box on my new clutch says Hoon Resistant

Just happy to get my car back tomorrow guys. Miss it heaps

Button clutch sounds like a biatch from what I've read on them. Not bagging your choice Haydo afterall it is your car lol

I ment to ask before... Do you happen to know what offsets you are running on the rears to fit the 10.5's?

Did you have to pump the guards or just roll them on the rear??

Kroozin. My dad knows A boss in Adelaide clutch who has grown up with him so I get looked after

My offset off the top of me head is +42 no rolling or lifting enhancements.

And obviously if any clutch is set up properly it will last longer than a clutch that is not set up properly it's common sense...

The Xtreme is rated to more power than my car puts out. I think it's 700RWKW but not 100% I do know it's a 1100kg clutch.
