couple of well-funny ones from the uk are Black Books with Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey,

and Spaced with Simon Pegg. If you like the IT crowd they're well worth a look.

I used to watch Black Books about probably 10 years ago, was on the ABC. Bill Bailey is piss funny!

Gotta love Hugh Laurie in Blackadder - most, especially House fans, have no idea he is/was essentially a 'comic' actor.

Also a talented musician I believe FWIW, he plays keys in a band with (amongst others) Lenny Henry I think, also a funny man.

The Shield is the best cop drama ever and the dickheads at ten treated it with contempt, just like the awesome Battlestar Galactica.
