govt gives you a breif, you have to come up with a design for architectural strucutral, mechancial, hydraulic etc and then price it as well.

Today would be up there with the worst day of my life....

In the last 3-4 hours we have laid off another 10 personnel from my shift and another 12 from dayshift....and more to come...

Our hose factory in Malaysia is down from 80,000 tons of hose a month to 20,000 tonnes in the last three months...China's production has halved theres also been lay offs in Europe, America and all branches in Australia.

Fark, that is not a good outlook As with Mickus I have my fingers crossed for you.

Interestingly my employment agents tell me that whilst things are not as robust as previous,however opportunities are starting to come back.

Unfortunately in Australia we are very good at eliminating manufacturing costs by going off shore.This will take a while longer for those companies importing our own raw materials back as finished goods.

Fortunately it is all cyclic. The world is not going to stop people. Get out there, have a plan and work it unmercifully!

sh*t mate that's bad news, everyday l am hearing more and more first hand accounts of people being affected by the deflating debt bubble. Fingers crossed for you and the company that from here the cutbacks are sufficient for the company to survive into the future. The company l work for has laid of nearly 200 people, this is a company that just 4 months ago was hiring at 50 per month. That's how quickly the unwinding of the world economy has hit.
