I work for Rio but with choo choo trains, not spades and wheel barrows, got a few mates at West Ang tho, wadyawannaknow?

I have decided that lately I am becoming a sucker for punishment..

Almost like I've had an epiphany that I need to actually start being productive and justifying my existence in a company that has paid me quite well to be quite slack for quite some time..

Maybe this has something to do with an upcoming merger and the amount of housekeeping (firings) going on in the past few weeks..

So this has led to me feeling a bit down.. Tired.. Worn out.. I'm no stranger to long hours.. But long hours spent sitting on a bullbar telling someone else how to do his job properly are a whole lot different to long hours spent crunching numbers and trying to do something a bit different to the next bloke..

So this led to me downloading an app for my phone that apparently tells me how well I slept.. Enter my hyper-competitive side. The guy who hates to lose a company golf game.. Who tries to set the best time home from remote sites using dirt tracks through peoples properties (with permission).. Who thinks the size of a meal ordered at a company dinner is directly related to manliness...

I now wake up in the morning.. Check my sleep efficiency and time spent in REM stage of sleep and think 'f*ck yeah.. Way better than last night'.. Now I find myself comparing scores with blokes at work to see who slept the best.. Or the worst because either is a claim to fame..

I swear in this company we are lucky that there is only 1 urinal..

Nah.. Golf keeps me drinking free.. I encourage the other fellas to practice.. In saying that I conveniently avoid the group with the company owners.. They play way too much golf..
