If you $200 or so to spend on tool/device for car or around the house, and you already had the basics, what would you get?

Have voucher to spend at Repco, but buy enough oil, etc that I can easily transition it to funds anywhere.

Early leader is one of those air compressor and air tool combo kits that supercheap have on special sometimes for tyre inflation, impact wrench, small Painting jobs, etc. Or maybe a new jack.

morning all

First I would buy the tools and consumables for a major service. If you already have that stuff, the compressor sounds like a reasonable idea, although I'm not sure that rhapeco would have good quality compressors (or jacks).

Yeah I agree re quality being a concern. I'm pretty set for the basics for major service stuff. The old man has the supercheap compressor kit and reckons it's pretty good. Although if I mainly want an impact wrench maybe I'm better off going electric.

For a jack I'd probably end up going to Sydney tools or something.

possible suggestions as I don't know what you mean by 'the basics'

-car audio stuff

-spares - fuses/globes/wiper blades/etc

-fire extinguisher for your car (or if another car catches fire)

-car wash/polish/detailing stuff (claybar kit etc)

Battery impact wrenches are awesome. Can chuck it in the boot for drags or track day or whatever for easy changing of tyres. Can't do that with an air tool.

Oh yeah another awesome thing I discovered last time changing tyres at the drags- the jack has the same size hex head on it as the standard wheel nuts (or close enough) so you can use the impact wrench to jack your car up

I got a pretty decent racing jack from repco but may have been a bit more than 200

Good suggestions. Battery impact wrench is definitely taking my fancy. Would be pretty cool with the wrench and the jack if you helped someone stuck on the side of the road with a flat and had them going again F1 pit stop style. ☺️
