A tune can reduce your fuel consumption in general as the cars run rich from factory and the tuner can lean it out. However, if you use WOT, you will use more fuel than you currently do due to the extra power (which requires more fuel).

That's what I think atleast while its chewing the fuel it ain't running lean I get Around 350klms a tank around town and highway I can do 550Klms combined never drove just highway for a whole tank!

You obviously haven't seen how rich they run. It's not just a "rich for safety" extra, they burn extra rich to reduce emissions. You can safely lean out the car quite a bit from the Factory tune. As I said, it's only that rich because it allows them to get better scores in the emissions tests, not because they think the motor's going to blow running any leaner.

My Missus XR6T has around 1500km on it now, so far it has varied from as long as 8.5l\100km on the high way to around 17l\100km around town with me driving. Average is like 13l\100km with the missus driving it around town. It's more economical than my Patrol

fg turb ute 81 litre tank approx 750/800 kms runnin 15psi with some hard traffic light drags. cant help but blow away all the ss commondores

lol the best iv got is 600. not sure what % freeway/city driving that was.

usually fill up at half way anyways. usualy get to 250-270 kms by half way.

Jd gets about 500 maybe up to 550 I think (cant remember excatly JD can confirm) to a tank with his driving style.

These are real world numbers. normal everyday stuff. Not some easy runs up the freeway to claim super low numbers. Funnily Ford quote 17.2L/100km urban to 8.5L/100km extra rural, combined 11.7L/100km. Cheers playdoh. These are similar to the numbers I get, my usage is around 15L/100km(average speed around 32kph) on tank fill litres used against km done. My driving in pretty much all short stop trips(max distance would be 15km) in 50-70kph zones with the odd couple km on the freeway. I also get the turbo on boost when I get a chance, off the lights/freeway on ramp.

These cars have awesome economy given the power and how quick they are. If I wanted an economical car I would buy a turbo diesel but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.
