April 18, 200620 yr #1 Well. I was made redundant last Wednesday and now am looking for a full time role preferably in IT Infrastructure as a Solutions Architect for a multinational company. If you know of anything please PM me! My resume can be sent to anyone interested!ThanksChris
April 18, 200620 yr #2 The IT market is flourishing. I'm looking for a new job at the moment.I applied for 10 jobs late Thursday night, I've got 10 phone calls back before 10am this morning, and one interview so far tomorrow. You won't have much trouble finding a good paying job.
April 18, 200620 yr #3 that's no good at all. I will however ask around , seems that more and more FMCG IT stuff is going OS
April 18, 200620 yr #4 Chris,I have just put on 2 new staff and we did not have much choice in the limited candidates we got.We had 100's of applications from people living overseas or interstate, but only 5 suitable ones from Sydney. It is a candidates market as 2 out of the 5 accepted jobs the day before their interviews.I would say you will find something better that pays more than your current position.Be happy and try to have a holiday before you start another job.
April 18, 200620 yr #5 Sorry to hear mate but I am sure it will work out and you will find a better job soon.Ian
April 18, 200620 yr #6 Sorry to hear that mate Anyway, you'll find something bigger and better soon, I'm sure All the best, and good luck
April 18, 200620 yr #7 Sorry to hear Chris - are they outsourcing to India or something? All the best with you future ventures though, and like others have mentioned I'm sure you won't find it hard to slip into another job sooner rather than later.
April 18, 200620 yr #8 Hi Chris,Sorry to hear that. Hope the payout was reasonable. I don't have a good feel for the job market in IT right now, but where I work they have recently created 2 new positions (which have been filled already) in the Mobile IT Solution Architect roles. Seems like there is a strong need now for people who know their IT stuff well and a bit of mobile data as well (so Ivan may be okay too ). So, if that's any indication, things have certainly picked up from about 8 months ago when we actually had to release one of our solution architects because we were told to have a 10% chop across the board, no buts. All the best anyway, and if I hear or see something that may help you, I'll certainly let you know.
April 18, 200620 yr #9 Good Luck with the new Job Hunting... why don't you start your own thing shazzy
April 18, 200620 yr #10 Good luck with the hunt Chris, from what Zap and Cro have said above you should have a few options in the current climate.
