All on sealed roads! Please be aware there are some incredible twisties on this route - best let any passengers know of potential motion sickness. Also, please ensure you have a conntigency plan if you have a breakdown - like a mate who is willing to stay with you if necessary or Roadside Assistance. And it might be a good thing not to have anything critical to do on the following weekdays justin incase you need extra days to get home for some reason. DURATION: Main Cruise 3 Days - Friday Saturday and Sunday. ROUTE: Snowy Mountains - need I say more Vid of 2017 Snowy Cruise ACCOMODATION: Just checking on prices and availability - so watch this space! FUEL: A fair bit of fuel will be required for the drive during the 3 or 4 days. Please ensure you are topped at the meet points and have enough fuel to complete the legs (so best to fuel up when others do). If you need E85 - best to bring your own jerry cans filled up in the capital cities as there will be no E85 in the country. EvilDaifu has a few CBs for free loan on the cruise if anyone is interested - just PM EvilDaifu to reserve one. Camera for the photo opps and the views. Don't forget to bring extra batteries for your CB and camera - something makes me think we'd be chewing through the batteries on this cruise! Sunnies. Warm clothes - though it's November, it's still an alpine region and they got snowed in on one the cruise years ago. Bucket, sponge and some car wash liquid if you want to keep your car shiny for photo opps. 3M clear contact tape (from auto stores) for your bonnet lips and maybe fog lights to protect against stone chips and cracks. Cro did a write up about it on the forum. Or just buy the foggie protectors off eBay. Worth it - I've cracked both of mine on different past cruises. Likewise with windscreen insurance - seems to happen get the occassional stray stone flick up. CG-Lock - some of us have them GoPro's (prolly didn't need to say that ) If you have an edit - consider bringing your flash boxes incase you need it - don't laugh I remember one gentleman broke down and had to drop his tune back to stock because a. dust in his airbox b. water in his fuel c. didn't clean K&N air filter of gunk d. sprung a leak in radiator hose e. farrked if I know Spare car keys (how many times have guys locked their keys in their car on cruises ) MOBILEPHONE COVERAGE: Telstra has generally had the best coverage on this cruise in the past. You will need CBs though as there most of the time we'll be out of mobile coverage. Generally some of the guys will have spare CBs but just mentioned you'll need to borrow one when you post up below. RULES: 1. Obey all laws whilst on the cruise; this means no speeding, no overtaking over double lines (no matter how safe you think it may be), etc... 2. There is a designated cruise leader who will lead the way and set the correct pace for all cruise members. 3. Use the Buddy system - always make sure you can see the car behind you. This will give people behind you an indication on where to turn to make sure nobody gets lost. 4. CB Radios - if you don't have one, follow the maps and directions given out. It is highly recommended to have CB as it enhances the enjoyment of the cruise being able to hear about road hazards and join in on the social chatter. 5. Please turn up to the meeting points with a sufficient fuel in your tank and enough time before the departure time. 6. Onus is on the owner/driver to ensure their vehicle is safe to drive on public roads and meets State road traffic authority laws. 7. Please ensure you have a contingency plan if you have a breakdown or unnecessarily delayed. e.g. Roadside Assistance or a mate in another car who is willing to stay with you if necessary. 8. 2. The Off Topic Thread.

I never worked out how much I pay. But one of my Gillette tri-blade plastic shavers lasts me about 2 weeks and that's a head shave every 2 days as well as the daily face shaves (exvluding weekends)
  3. Should I Buy This Xr6T (Merged Topic)

Well I think from the time I really started looking for my Vixen F6 it must have been close to 9 mths. There was one in VIC that was a MK2 which I should have bought but I waited to long for the price to drop as it was dropping every so many weeks. Problem with that strategy is what you want to pay may be lower than someone else who's played the game longer and willing to pay just that bit more to secure the car. So when my current one came up in Sydney it had only been up for less that 24 hrs on carsales website and within a week I was up there for inspection with a one way ticket. As soon as I saw it in the driveway - knew it was the one - you know that music that plays in your head The test drive comfirmed it. He had his pink and blue (or whatever they are in NSW) slips ready because in that week he'd already been pissed off by some tyre kicker so he was primed for negotiating and I got the price down. Mind you - I paid a bit more than I thought I would pay but it wasnt much more in the scheme of things. It might have helped I was into XR6 turbos as part of this forum - people want to know they are passing on their pride and joy to someone who'll appreciate it in my opinion. And I got to do the smile on your face as wide as the Nullabor honeymoon drive back to Melbourne
  4. Should I Buy This Xr6T (Merged Topic)

I'd say make a list of the parts/features you want in order of priority so you know what to compromise on. And make sure the km's are low but not to low - you don't want something that's only been driven 1 week every 3 months. But for me low'ish kms was more important than how old the car was. However can't go to old else that's just as bad as having super low kms. Then go hunting - I sort of restricted my search to Sydney (more cars to choose from) or Adelaide (less competition for cars) as well as Melbourne. Either are a cheap'ish flight to get to and I used to book one-way tickets cos never know if the one you go up to see will be the one you get to drive home in But you definitely have to see the car in person was my solid belief - pictures lie alot (depends on lighting, angle of view, color saturation and cropping - especially the cropping ... like what did they crop out because it would detract from the sale !) Above all be patient - despite what you think about prices and people being stubborn barstardds - the one will come along and you'll be thanking every day from that day on that its your drive now

Really luv Queenstown. 1886 is my fave pub there - try the ribs there if you get a chance What's the plan for Sunday? Arrowtown is worth a visit - it's just up the road and the pie shop on the corner as you drive in aint much to look at but has some of the best pies (and pasties) in South Island by my reckoning

Yep agree need the celeb appearance @CJF077
  10. NZ Cruise 2018. Sept 8-15, South Island

Hope you have a good trip Rab I usually pick up a prepaid SIM at the airport in Queenstown but I haven't been to Christchurch for maybe 8 years now but guessing should be able to do same there. I usually go Vodafone in NZ for my voice prepaid SIM for my smartphone. But no matter what - data is expensive over there relatively speaking. Spark is also good for coverage as well. I'd avoid 2degrees as their coverage is not as good as Vodafone and Spark in rural areas. Locals will have opinions as well. I think whitebait season starts soon?
  11. Just saw this review date 22 August 2018 about the 2018 Kia Stinger https://www.drive.com.au/new-car-reviews/kia-stinger-330s-2018-119227.html?ffref=theage&trackLink=SMH2 Got to admit the side view looks hot (looks a bit Jaguarish ...) But I'm not a fan of the front view (the side ways 8 nostrils) or interior ...

  20. Future of Site - Discussion

we talking pron site BCB (sorry ...)
  21. Future of Site - Discussion

Hey I think we should keep it free so anyone can access it. I'd never have joined if I had to pay I reckon. But I also know it costs money to run. I for one wouldn't mind donating once a year in a philanthropic fashion now that I know how valuable this site has been to my well-being (mates, good times, car passions) as I suspect some would on here (but not as an enforced membership so if I was having any hardship in donating I wouldn't have to.) I would also like to see the site running costs looked into by Chris and select few others who know this stuff well to see if there was a better way of hosting the site without need for advertisers and so we can just run off the philanthropic donations. Alot of good enthusiasts sites out there today are there due to the philanthropy of their owners and Chris is definitely one of those people in my mind. I want to help him out continue the good work because I am lucky enough to be able to afford to. But I do want to keep the site free to encourage people to benefit from it. Thanks
  22. Turning off traction control for good

    O M G who's got a short fuse ...
  23. Cold air intake tune???

I have a Growler installed on my F6. Sounds good
  24. Boosting issues

For this sort of thing - I'd be taking it to a tuner for a proper check. I'd also try resetting the ECU first if not already tried (removing the battery negative for several mins).
