Very interesting, thanks. I got the impression that most members on this forum viewed BP Ultimate as the 'best' 98RON fuel? Seems there may be a few switching to Vortex 98 after reading this...

...and for good reason, it's the one I stick by and it's given no issues unlike some others!

Calwell shops stocks it and you can use the Woolies coupons there too.

I made the change after reading that report about amonth ago, I was having a few PING-A-LING issues with all my xede and edit, swaped over, no more ping.

I had been using PB for ages and was happy, until the ping came.

I have just put my first tank of the E10 98 ron in on friday, so far so good.

Good research effort, though it clearly fails the test of strict scientific accuracy. That is, these results cannot be used for any type of generalisation without testing further fuel batches and repeatedly applying the EXACT same method for a requisite number of samples that allow for statistical validity. There is other scientific validity looseness in the methodology but I wont get too pedantic.

Given this initial testing and the encouraging results of the Ethanol 98, it would be interesting to see the testing results of Optimax 100 with Ethanol.

Shell at Albany Creek will have the new 100ron Optimax in December though.
