  1. It will all depend on how you want to compose the shot, but at those distances you'll probably want something around 300mm if not longer. If I was in that situation I'd be using my 100-400mm. I've never used it for horses, but I've used it for race cars which would be similar in overall size at those types of distances.
  2. I agree with you both. However, I believe the intention was to get all the pointless dribble off the open forum.
  3. Don't forget oil pump gears.
  4. Why? Nothing wrong with Nizpro.
  5. Nizpro. I know someone will say they're expensive, but there's no point cutting corners with an engine build. Doubt you'll find anyone with as much experience as them in building these engines.
  6. Fair enough. I'm a heavy vehicle diesel mechanic by trade. I like it and my job has some unusual and interesting equipment, but as far as trades go there's probably better ones to pick from.
  7. WTF would you want to do that!?
  8. Do you mean the flash over powered the ambient light? Since you're using the on camera flash I'll assume it's operating in ETTL mode. If so, you can dial down the FEC control to lower the flashes output to stop it from nuking all the available light. The instructions for doing that will be in the owners manual.
  9. A flash can make a crap photo look good if used correctly. Bad light is always bad light. Flash give you a degree of control. It's not just the in built flash that's no good. An external flash mounted to the camera will also give the same plain look. The advantage with the external flash is more power and the ability to direct the flash output in other directions to bounce the light off something in order to change the direction of light. That can look really great. Everyone has there own opinions on what looks good. What appeals to me may not appeal to someone else. So in saying that I'll say I am yet to see a single shot taken at night using ambient light that I thought looked good.
  10. 's Very sad news. He didn't look well at Sandown at all!
  11. You're a skinny fat person. I'm a lot like you. You can still be unhealthy without being over weight.
  12. A Christmas Cruise in January?
  13. The rims look good. Can they get tyres to fit them properly? It looks odd not filling the rim out IMO. I'd be amazed if they didn't rub constantly on a spirited drive with a few bends in the road. One of the upcoming cruises would test it out nicely.

  15. Don't think so Dillz. I believe the LPi is direct injection.
  16. What's that setup used for? Gaming?

Did anyone get any good photos?
  18. All XR6T's come with LSD's. Sounds like yours needs rebuilding. A LSD will have no effect on the power it makes. It will help a lot when it comes to getting that power to the ground.
  19. Nice!
  20. This is now fixed.
  21. You won't need the Extreme's. Save yourself some money and get Ultra II's.
  22. The problem is that if the light sucks then the light just sucks. Nothing that camera will do will fix that. Street lights or car park lights are never going to give you the quality of light you need for the shot to look good. Remember, it's about the quality of the light. Not the quantity of the light. Daylight photography is a good place to start learning and experimenting.
  23. Lightroom is pretty much all I use. I love it. I rarely use Photoshop. I enjoy taking photos. I can't stand editing! Tripod is a must. You can get by without a remote. Just use the 2 second timer so the shutter fires after you push the button. Where was the aperture mentioned? Large apertures are the low numbers, such as f/2.8 etc and the small apertures are the high numbers, such as f/22. Flash can be used very effectively. ON camera flash is considered bad, but off camera flash can give amazing results.
  24. Get two 16GB's instead. You don't want to rely on just one card. If it dies then you've lost everything? Does your camera have dual card slots?
  25. ZF takes off in 2nd. Drive down the road in manual and come to a stop. You'll see the gear indicator go down to 2 when you stop. Or while you're stopped select performance mode. Start to drive off and manually downshift. The trams will downshift a gear into first. You took off in 2nd again.
