  1. HOLY SNAPPIN' DUCKSH!T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Now you're showing your age Al. Having said that, I've got anything from Pavarotti - Nessun Dorma @ 28 on the volume dial - to Metallica S&M (really the best classical/metal mix ever) , Queen, Floyd:rockon: , Bowie, Neil Young, Silverchair (only Diorama), Tchaikovsky's 1812, but watch the speakers when the cannons fire , plenty of Blues and Jazz, and on and on............. Definitely no techno or C&W ( I get sick even typing the initials)

    A Lemon Hits Wa

Ditto from here. Looks like we're getting quite a collection in WA. With all the colours, we could make a veritable fashion statement. See you at the meeting on June 6th. Tickford club, Alberts Hi-fi, Myaree.
  4. I forgot another favourite - my '71 XY Panelvan. My first V8, and obviously easier to do certain things in at 23 years of age than Mini's and Escorts. Trust me!!
  5. Oh brother, where do you start. 24 cars plus 11 company cars, a truck, 2 buses and 17 motorbikes. Favourite ones funnily enough '73 LTD (Oz one not US), '76 ZH Fairlane (travelled round WA with this one - caravan and all), '71 Mk1 Escort, '55 Hillman Minx (first car), '84 ZK Fairlane (did heaps of work with that one and it didn't cost a zak in maintenance) '71 Mini 1100 (have 2 project ones for the kids - one '64 genuine auto) And of course the XR6T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :banghead: Not bad in 30 years. Why haven't I got any money??
  6. Lunchtime Al, and also after (well) 5.00. After all, it IS a company car.
  7. Had the same issue with the last couple of work cars, Toy*** and C********, but it is the location of the air intake at the base of the windscreen that is the reason, especially on sunny days. It sucks warmed up air. If there is some cloud cover, it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue. I just wind the windows down, 'cause I got the weather shields on both sides.
  8. I've got the turbo/auto and have successfully towed a horse float with 2 horses, all up weight about 1900k. I don't plan doing long distances like this, but 1/2 hour local trips don't seem a problem. I have a Landcruiser for the "big" jobs. I also had a supercharged VR V6 C******** with a standard 1200kg towbar before the L/C, and it didn't have a problem in 3 years. Just a matter of being careful.

    Mug Shots

Having a bit of a struggle with the wet Ugg Boots are we?  I traded mine in for Koala slippers about 23 years ago.
  10. Silverhawk, Woolies and others only have PULP which is 96 octane. If you want the go, BP Ultimate is 98 octane. Shell Optimax is also 98 octane, but unless they can get it freighted to WA really cheap, you probably won't see it here. The refinery here blends fuels for most other companies, but not the Ultimate.
  11. BCL was quoted $85k for the GT.
  12. Good story. As the article says, WRX potential buyers are getting switched over. I was one. Give me a bit of room, a bit of muscle and not necessarily 8 cylinders, and we have a match
  13. Ain't that the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the prospect of making some sick horsepower for less than the $36k difference, and THEN blowing the 8's into the middle of LAST week.
  14. The V8 rules state that the engines have to be 5.0L pushrod jobs. The yanks still make them both in Ford and GM versions. As Turbo6man says, Mitsubishi and Toyota won't "invent" a 40 year old engine, and they have the GTP to race in now. However, when the Ford and GM marketing boys get the quad-cam V8s into the mainstream production cars, you'd better believe that a rule change allowing them into the V8 Supercars is on the cards. If that happens, then the Lexus V8 and (start a rumour here) an extra 2 cylinders onto a Mitsubishi 3.5litre V6, a la Pajero, and we have around 4.2 V8.........................................................
  15. BIG dreams?? Bigger shed?? Silverhawk, Is that what I have to look forward to in my old age?? BRING IT ON!!!
  16. I'd be in that like a rat up a drain pipe. Let's talk about it at the meeting. Silver, OK for you, you're already halfway down there!
  17. vik351, All you should need to do is to drain the system (flush with distilled water if you can), clean the crud out of the expansion tank and refill with either the Ford coolant or something like Castrol Radicool, which is already mixed, or a good ethylene glycol based coolant concentrate and mix at between 33% and 50% with distilled or demineralised water. I prefer the premix option because it takes the effort out of having to measure things. Just pour it in. You shouldn't have any issues after that, but I'd be interested if you do.
  18. I would seriously doubt it!!! It would be a piece of proverbial to prove that the DBAs would perform better than th standard ones, so Ford shouldn't have ANY problem with them.
  19. Thanks richdave. I'll remember to "search" next time.
  20. Does anyone have information on the precise difference between the premium and standard brakes? Is the premium package only the Brembo 4 pot calipers, or is the disc different also? Would appreciate finding out.
  21. Dead right XR6PSI. Thanks for the tip.
  22. Ahhhhh - ya gets what yer pays fer. :D :D
  23. You can accuse the advertisers of a lot of things.............. Intelligence isn't one of them!!!

    Avatars ...

Hey Cro, just in case you're getting "antsy" waiting, have a picture of mine to sooth your troubled spirit. I include my "shadow" in the pic, but not trying to usurp BLKXRT or the "Phantom"
  25. Absolutely ace site!! I've never been as involved with a forum as much as this. Agree with all that's been said, including looking for threads, 'cause even in my old age I forget where I was at times. I know that we can use the "Track this thread" button, but I don't always want to track the subject. Is there an easy way of finding out which members are in a particular area? Like W.A. frinstance. I know of some W.A. members, but there are probably others that I haven't come across yet. Keep up the good work - I'll be donating soon.
