I had done 160 thousand ks in my ute with usual brake shudder issues, came time to replace brake pads and was told discs needed replacing. I had dba 4000 discs fitted with some type of ceramic pads. 5000ks later pads were down to metal and discs had massive hot spots so they replaced discs and fitted new pads. 1000ks later I informed them that it seemed like the brakes were dragging and there was a bit of disc wear occuring. I asked them if the calipers were the problem but they said they had stripped the calipers originally and they were fine. Left car with workshop for a couple of days to see if they could locate problem, they called me back said car was fine they had replaced the master cylinder. 17000ks later car is driving me nuts, driving along at 80ks steering wheel vibrating like hell, hit the brakes and its all good again, next time driving around the city brakes are dragging and you could cook a steak on the discs. anyone got any ideas beside the obvious.

get a good flexplate, good convertor, leave torque tags in place and do the usual gearbox mods, you might have some luck. I would suggest to get some one close to you as it is easier to get the auto serviced, new bands etc. best of luck and get to know your auto guy

these cam packages are delivering about 320 to 330 rwkws with exhaust, cam, otr and tune. the driveability with cam in l98 and ls2 seems pretty good

if you buy one I have a motec diff controller I could sell to you cheap. only problem with modding them too much is breaking gearboxes and transfer box

drove a evo 8 for a while, driving around suburbia drove me nuts but out in the open roads unreal

I had similar problems but when I braked hard it would go away for a while, ended up being rear discs

I took the methanol off and set it back up as a street car, ran a 9.84 at 134 about a month ago not to shabby for a streeter

I have just put 5th flexplate in, in each occasion the bolts had stretched, so loctite was useless

try tightning up u bolts on rear end it got rid of my noise, thanks Hi-torque

I guess you guys don,t use that power on the street, smoke and black lines from one end of the coast to the other end. another good result from hi torque

I think you will find the pwr system is 4" all the way

I have the pwr exhaust on my ute, have done about 50oooks since been fitted, it,s a beautifull piece of work, has a bit of drone about 1800rpm, quite on the highway and won,t limit your hp. only complaint would be 4" tip out the back but maybe I,m getting old

since fitting high stall convertor flexplate has been coming loose, from what I,ve been told it is the crap convertor which is a aznu brand. has any one else had problems, this is my 5th flexplate and 2nd convertor

peter wherret special was a 2.6 na, turbo was 2 litre was a great handling car easy to drive at high speeds. but it was a lag monster 15 lbs meth, water injection no intercooler and no lsd but it still claimed a few scalps
