  1. Yeah well that's a bit of a mystery because when he told me about his injury it was about a truck that crushed his leg, neck was never mentioned Seen him walk around with a stick a couple of times over the years, otherwise you'd think nothing wrong with him He makes out he's either 'advised' or 'abused' (depending on how you interpret his writing) me/us about it before but this is the first mention of it I have ever heard When parked the wife's car would be more than 10m from closest point of his driveway, actually checked on google maps last night Plus it's up on the verge No you would not have issues If he does then I'd love to see him drive in any sort of traffic, would be entertaining
  2. Yeh took a while to work it out, especially the last line I take it that "Heard ove common sence" should read "Heard of common sense?" Not sure if he sat and fumed about it for two weeks and finally decided to write something... or that's how long it took to write
  3. Was going to put this in the WPMO thread but it actually made me laugh so put it here instead... My wife went out to the mailbox yesterday arvo and finds a 'letter' - I use the term loosely here - from the neighbour. Bit of background... We are second from the end of a cul-de-sac, end of the street is just bush, across the road is a reserve so no houses on that side, behind us is some uncleared land that's part of the primary school. In short, extremely quiet area, never had any neighbour dramas on either side, everyone minds their own business. Bloke beside us (at end of street) had a workplace accident about 10 yrs ago, I'm guessing he's early to mid 40s, lives by himself, I've given him a hand a few times in his yard with tree branches etc Never had much to do with him in the 3 years he's been there but never any issues. He doesn't work at all but mucks around in the garden, drives a later model Monaro CV8, always going in and out, seems to live pretty comfortable About every 3 weeks, bit of a family tradition, we have a few friends/family in for Sunday lunch, roast on the weber and chill with a few drinks I park the family car in the cul de sac but on the verge, as driveway is steep-ish and have a few oldies in as well Others usually park out front of my place or in cul de sac Last time we did it was 2 weeks ago Yesterday got this Not sure whether to be pissed off or amused This forum is good for neighbourhood help lol
  4. The search button is your friend, as they say round here... But since I'm a nice bloke http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/32461-turbo-oil-supply-screen-cleaning/
  5. So it's not only ford who fit an inline filter screen to the turbo oil supply line?
  6. Nice rack of axes there... that a 7 string ibanez in the middle??? no comment on the sump though lol
  7. WMMFG This ^^^^ Brought back the memories 9-10 years ago...every Saturday used to hit the downhill trails around the gong with mates uni track the glory trail on mt keira Mt Kembla coal loader trail Smell of lantana and bike tyres in the back of the ford transit doing shuttle runs Arm pump and the vomit at the end of first run after hard fri nights First trip to thredbo downhill track in the back of the van, 5hr trip 7 blokes no seats or seatbelts just mattresses and cases of piss, yeah young and dumb Sold my giant DH to fund first car mods and haven't so much as looked at one since #nostalgic Cheers MS
  8. This arvo finally had a chance to get onto this Pulled tub liner out which didn't take long Removed cover plate Unscrewed pump module And...as predicted by wiggum, end was very split... well called CMS mentioned some special kpm e85 rated hose they have been using instead of the gates stuff which seemed popular in the e85 thread on here What have others used?
  9. Nope it can't Only have xcal2...will scan fault codes? Ok split fuel hose sounds possible...I guess that a minimum of 4 periods sitting idle for about 3 months each time over the last 4 years wouldn't help fuel lines...loss of licence, turbo seizing, etc etc - and possibly they could become brittle, e85 wouldn't help? Thanks for input guys
  10. This could also well fit into WPMO thread Had to go out yesterday morning - 100km return - and took the ute All well both ways - apart from as yet unsorted tailshaft noise - until about 6km from home Ute started to fart and misfire badly all of a sudden, almost no power whatsoever Stopped beside the road, it calmed down and idled ok, tried to take off but had nothing at all, basically had idle power and that's it I had it retuned recently on e85, it has had about 2/3 tank of that through it and as the clutch has started to sh*t itself with the extra power, have only run 98 since for about 1000km with no dramas Until this. Immediately thought 'fuel filter'...had heard stories of running e85 even for a short while shifting all sorts of crap in the fuel tank Thing is I had changed it just before the tune...surely it couldn't block up that quick? Anyway left it where it was and got my brother to come pick me up....luckily wasn't 50km away in Wollongong at the time! Came back out with tools and replacement fuel filter and changed it beside a side road I managed to limp it to...that was a fun job, managed to round off one of the nuts this time dammit Restarted with fingers crossed... bu nope no better Quick glance at the old filter and it looked clean as Managed to idle it home...sorry if you were one of the poor pricks stuck behind me where there was no shoulder to pull over! Once I got it home I tried re-flashing it - didn't work. Filled up from a 20L jerry with 98 in case the pump had issues with low level of fuel - approx 80km range - but that didn't work. The only other thing I can think is that the fuel pump - intank Walbro 460 - has started to crap itself or its sucked a massive amount of garbage that's come off the bottom of the tank, almost blocking the filter sock Is this likely? I'm about to try find out...luckily before I had the new pump fitted I cut in the tray and made a removable section for easy access Any other ideas? A quick search under 'pump filter' in the fuel system section showed up a few issues over the years of dirty batches of fuel and guys finding a lot of crap in their tanks I only fill up at 1 of 2 different servos (except for e85 which there isn't much choice) and never had any issue before
  11. Tell your tuner what you're after From memory you were going to cms...? Just tell Joe to smash it in down low
  12. Ok sold Cheers bud
  13. I got a Gibson 1000hp tailshaft fitted about a week ago Had a fair bit of vibration under load, spoke to Joe yesterday arvo who mentioned they have had to shim the centre bearing 5mm down in utes before As CMS are flat out I told him I would sort it out, turned up a couple of spacers from round bar and fitted them Haven't done any hwy driving yet but driving home from work yesterday and back in this morning seemed to be an improvement - could be imagination though Also been raining so plenty of other noise, especially with sideways movement Spoke to Joe again this morning and I will try say 7.5mm and 10mm spacers and see if any further improvement If no go then it may be the shaft itself, though with the equipment Gibson has got now as mentioned above it's doubtful No doubts about CMS customer service though, nothing but good things to say there
  14. So I come back on here and seems all the interesting bits are a page ago And to give princess credit she knows how to put her thoughts into words and sticks at it, for a long time by the look of it but to be fair she brought it up iirc so had a point to prove...even if it's mostly wrong lol Could use a page or two to reply to the rants but to what purpose Just for starters though your first point was that the Bible is hypocritical Bearing in mind that the basis of Christianity is Jesus Christ, who comes in in the New Testament, just give one example of hypocrisy there, genuine request
  15. being nizpro...I'll take a punt and say they didn't charge him enough lol
  16. Spoke to Scott at Western Clutch again today Small business in st marys that was recommended by none other than npc as installers and spoken of very highly Scott is very helpful and willing to talk, as mentioned above he hadn't installed an xtreme twin plate organic and is more used to the npc but is more than happy to fit the xtreme Seems like the basic difference in the xtreme is that the plates are not sprung centre = a fair bit more noise at idle and under load at lower rpm Also something about the npc using a single spline, whereas xtreme doesn't...straight over my head lol Anyway to supply clutch kit and install and test the xtreme for 2250 including balancing flywheel which I don't think I can go past seriously Sure the npc is a better clutch... but $1000 more? not to me I doubt. I can live with the extra noise Haven't heard back from Brett Lulland but tempted to go ahead anyway Would still be great to hear from anyone who's running one of these
  17. damn right bloodycrashboy thanks for putting in words what I had running around in my head Thought I was the only one on here with that view
  18. Numerous times or only once? bit hard to tell the context
  19. What brand are you running wenier?
  20. So back on topic Xtreme twin plate organic rated to 520fwkw won't give me the headroom I thought it would But with the xtreme engineer's comments I'm confident it will do the job considering that most of the time I'll be on 98, plus I'm mechanically sympathetic so no clutch kicking in 4th etc It will make noise under load at low rpm as per gaz097's comment Would assume this wouldn't be so bad with an organic though Just need to find somebody who's running one for their input and I'm about sold
  21. Isn't it Nm that does the work and hp/kw how fast that work is carried out...
  22. Not the maths I'm querying which is year 6 stuff Just find it a little intriguing. I have 382rwkw on 98 tune and using 22% factor = say 466fwkw, therefore 84kw loss But then I fill up on e85 and 438rwkw is apparently 534fwkw meaning I'm now losing 96kw...through the exact same driveline, so no more effort required to turn the wheels If you put it down to all the inefficiencies in the driveline adding up then 22% factor makes a little more sense...can't help feel it would decrease with higher power though Yes you would continue to lose more the more you made But not at a flat rate Which is sort of what arronm said
  23. Care to elaborate? Always keen to learn.
  24. Have never got the whole idea that rwkw is a percentage of flywheel power Let's say your factor of 22% is correct So stock FG xr6T with 270 at flywheel should pull about 220rwkw = 50kw loss through drivetrain and whatever else That loss isn't going to increase just because I get mods and tune
