  1. You play. You pay. Gotta be prepared to cop it
  2. Pretty sure this is the correct process to follow; 1. Prior to a ford service upload the factory tune and then get your tuner to clear your box of ALL tunes. 2. After the service get your tuner to reload the custom tunes which you can then upload which in turn downloads the updated ford factory tune. 3. Follow steps 1. & 2. everytime you take the car to ford in case they update the factory tune. In your case, because you didn't do step 1 the updated factory tune was unable to be downloaded due to the factory slot in the capa box still holding a copy of the old factory tune. Assuming you have since uploaded a custom tune in which case the updated factory tune has been overwritten and lost for good. If you request that ford DON'T re flash the car (which you can do) when in for servicing then you should never have a problem. As long as you reflash back to standard before taking the car in and the car has not been reflashed by ford since storeing your factory tune in the edit box.
  3. Why is it your still looking then?

When I was looking to buy second hand I test drove an XR8 and thought it felt just as quick as the T even though it proably wasn't. The boss has a more aggresive nature than the T and gives you more of initial shove when you nail it but as already mentioned it's powerband is fairly narrow. The T just goes about it's business without fuss relying more on it's torque than outright power. The way it delivers power is so linear that it's deceptivly quick. Once I decided to go new the price difference became larger and in the end I could't justify the extra 4 grand for a slower car that dosen't handel as well. Second hand with bugger all price difference I'd go for the best deal I could get T or 8. I'm sure you wont be dissapointed with either.
  5. Auctions are a bit different though. Maybe offering $24k is why you're still looking that's excatly why he's still looking. I thought the way you told cooltint he sold his T for "5 grand more than you can pick them up for" you must have already found a mint condition T for 23 grand.
  6. Go option 1. A 2006 plate is not worth the extra $2500 and you can get it now. Go the shockwave every second F6 you see is rapid.
  7. I found the most economic speed to be 81km/hr. Just when the overdrive kicks in. Boring but I had time to spare on a trip one day. Travel with the cruise on the highway saves on fuel and speeding fines. Having the auto change under 2000 rpm could help but remember when yuor at 100klm/hr your at 2000 rpm anyway, unlike the NA version at 1750 rpm. My worst 12.9/100, and the best over 520km was 9.85/100 on cruise. I tend to agree with others that you don't buy a T and then look to save money on fuel, otherwise you would have bought the NA version. I had a N/A BA XR6 before I got my T and the economy when on the open road is better with the T than the N/A. Best out of T 620 k's to a tank. Best out of N/A 580 k's The N/A also cruised at 2000 rpm like the T it's the XT's and fairmonts etc that have the taller diff which gives the 1750 RPM at 100.
  8. That boat was truly one of the great's, when it raced it either broke down or won. Unfortunately it was destroyed while testing for the Mildura 100. Threw a blade of the prop at well over 100 mph causing the boat to spin out of control destroying it. The owner Graham Ritchie lost part of the vision in one eye during the incident and has not river raced since. The observer and engine builder Stuart Thomas now build engines for Hellbent which is starting to develop a reputation along the same lines as God’s Gift. If any one is going through Echuca drop into the American hotel, they have a large section of the hull hanging on the wall. Looks very impressive.
  9. The main thing they need to do is take some weight out. Even if they could drop 200 kg's across the whole range it would make a huge difference. MP3 support should also be a must. I would also like to see the N/A XR6 receive some more power to differentiate it from the XT a bit more and make it more than a XT with a body kit. All previous XR6's had a little more power, bugger all but it was still a point of difference. 200kw's should do the trick. I would also give the Fairmont ghia 200kw’s to make it more of a sports/luxury package like it used to be. I think the boss motors are crying out for more power. I would like to see the XR8 go to 280kw, GT to 320kw. And you can’t have the XR8 with the same power as the F6 so F6 to 290kw and XR6T to 260kw. The car’s are more than able to cope with these power upgrades and still remain totally composed for day to day driving If ford could do that as well as dropping some weight then we might finally be able to take the sales fight to Expensive Daewoo for a change. Ever since the launch of BA basically every motoring writer/magazine has acknowledged the falcon as a better car than it’s Late model camira equivalent. Prices are similar yet we still get flogged in the sales?
  10. Yep, I'll take the bugs and stone chips every time. Completly destroys the look of the car and for the cost of one you could have the front bar resprayed at sale time anyway.
  11. Read about 10 posts back. Only dishing back out what I got in the first place. Have sent blonk a PM so I'm sure we will sort it out.
  12. No one want's to race you because there to busy trying to stop laughing at the idiot who bought an awsome car in the worst colour imaginable. What a twit.
  13. I recently bought a runout T I had a N/A XR6 with 26,000 k's, tow bar, matts, spats & tint otherwise standard in imaculate condition to trade. Was offered $22000 which I though was a bit low so I sold it privatly for $24000 I got a BA Mkii with all the stuff listed in my sig for $35600 drive away. This was through an employee discount program that saved me around $5000 making the T worth roughly $40500 drive away. Taking mine as an example as it's similar to what you looked at, $40500 for the T take away the cash you had to put in $22500 and they are effectivly offering you $18000 for your car. They have given you this amazing trade in figure then inflated the price of the new one. Flukeyluke was spot on. Id tell them " You can suck my balls!!"
  14. Motor are doing the clubbie Vs F6 thing in the upcomming Feb issue. Should make for interesting reading.
  15. It first came out in Ba Mkii
  16. And to you J-bomb....... Never, ever, ever underestimate the ability of a blown 6 or you will not only find yourself very, very embaressed, but will find yourself looking like the proper twit you are........ And why would I look like a twit? I'm well aware of the abilty of a blown 6 seeing as I own one and all. I thought a VT SS would have been an easy scalp for a BA XR6 Turbo seeing as it has 20 kw's less power and is 5 years older. The fact that it was not an easy scalp was the point I was trying to get across.
  17. My mate has got a stock auto Gen 3 VT SS which is freakishly quick. We did 3 run's against another mates stock auto T. Result. 2 wins for the SS one for the T. pretty much whoever got the better launch was able to hold the other one out to over 200 till we ran out of private road. My mate had only just got the T and was still learning the best way to launch but we had to call and end to it after 3 runs as the T was starting to fuel surge. Haven't had a chance to run either of them in my T yet which should be interesting. My point. Nerver underestimate a gen 3.
  18. would look better with the 18's IMO.
  19. Well done Xr Man I think a toxic phoon will look awsome. If I was getting one tomorow I would get toxic. Did you get the 19's?

I would have thought tune B would be easier on the engine with power tappering off up top, but how would a stock 4 speed auto and diff handel tune B as apposed to A with the power coming on much sooned and more agressivley?
  21. When I bought my T I got a pen and a tin of shortbread biscuits

Theres a reason you have the only one.
  23. I tend to take any review in the Herald Sun's car guide fairly lightly. I read it every friday and very rarley do there reviews offer much more than a recap of the press release with there opinion thrown in. This is fine only the don't back it up with any real sense of reasoning. I think this line sums it up "Somehow, the Falcon GT is not as good as it was, even with the marvellous new six-speed auto." Somehow? Well friggen why? Sure they lightly skim over a few reasons but nothing of any real conviction and then there statment about giving the BA GT 19/20 and then somehow implying the BF is not as good as the BA is interesting especially as it has it's "marvelous new box" there words not mine. Go figure.
  24. Have you got a link for these Zap? I did a search and couldn't find them
