  1. Good luck with it mate. I looked into doing the same thing several months ago but got talked out of it for some reason that I can't remember. You're going to love only handing over $40 odd bucks for a tank of fuel Looking fwd to the report.
  2. Having just jacked in my nice safe salary job for a new business venture ( that requires a fair bit of travelling) I've been looking at the options re a way more fuel efficient alternative to the T. Please tell me there is someone in Perth that can take care of the conversion / tune.
  3. Selling your pride and joy so that a bunch of strangers can gorge themselves and get pissed at your expense, now that's good concept....................not Only jokin, got to do what you've got to do I guess. On a more serious note congratulations Luke, heres to a lifetime of happiness together :spit:
  4. Yep just like a damn police siren which is not a good thing. I don't have a boost guage but it comes on under load around 2000rpm and stays until you back off. Does this suggest a boost leak or the Turbotech freeby?
  5. Greg are you serious about the Turbotech whine or is it just Diesel Machanic humour going over my head?
  6. A bit of help please guys. My car has just aquired a new unwanted noise that sounds like a cross between a turbo whistle and and auxilary whine that only comes on when under load. I recently had new turbo bearings fitted but the noise was apparent immediately following. Any ideas before I start pulling everything apart?
  7. Interesting to see that after all this time, Fusions are still a poular choice. I'm not a big lover of Gold rims however if the photshop is anything to go by I think they would be a pretty good match against what could losely be referred to as a British racing green. I'd say do it
  8. Feel ya pain mate, just replaced the bearings on mine after 97k. In my case the pick up pipe itself was blocked like a chainsmoking, McDonalds junky's artery. All the best with the make good
  9. In fairness it was not sighted as the cause but the comment was made that carbon build up in the pick up pipe would occur quicker in a 260+rwkw T than a bone stock one.
  10. Can you hear it when you're driving or even when it's idling or only when you turn off and it spools down?
  11. Yep I hear you. Perhaps my comments were bit idealistic in that they assume everyone can display a level of restraint and fairplay. I guess this is why it sometimes becomes necessary to close what are otherwise interesting and useful threads. Personally I tend to ignore immotive, nonsensical dribble, unless it's mine of course.
  12. ...........or prolonged oil changes or a build up of carbon in the oil supply caused by increased heat resulting from the turbo running twice the stock level of boost........................apparently
  13. I don't know Adam, whilst I agree with you that this should not turn into a Tuner bashing thread, for the reasons you have stated, I don't see any harm in contributors to the thread mentioning who tuned their car. I think we'll find that all tuners have been associated with a car that has gone bad, but this doesn't necessarily mean it was directly as a result of their methods of tuning. I know sponsors are integral to the life of this forum however lets not forget that it's main purpose is to provide members with as much information as possible, both good and bad, in order to get as much out of our collective enthusiasm / passion / sadisttic obsession for our cars.
  14. You guys have got it all sorted don't you. Lets just hope one of these "losers" don't end up being one of your family members / child. Not condoning his or anybody elses decision to get into the sh!t but if you think that's where the real problem lies you've got a fairly simplistic view on the issue in my book.
  15. He may well be a drop kick for getting involved in drugs at an early age, no thanks to the scumbag drug pushes that target high profile, cashed up young sports stars. Can't say I share your hilarity at the prospect of seeing another talented young man with the world at his feet p1ss it all away.
