  1. Watching the 4x100 relay the other night with Jodie Henry coming from behind and taking the yanks on the last leg brought a tear to my eye, just had to rant about the fantastic effort they made along with Thorpy and Hacketts awsome 400 1,2, and another tear watching Petria win her first individual Gold after 3 shoulder reconstructions, and congrats to all the other medal winners. How good are our athletes? Medals per population we would have to take the cake
  2. Been reading Atkins diet revolution book and makes interesting reading regarding his approach to weight loss in a way other than low fat and being constantly hungry, but by controlling carbohydrate intake, and eating high fat foods. Has anyone any experience/opinions.

Congrats and good luck to you and your dad, the boss engines are indeed sweet units, enjoy
  4. I've had no squeal or shudder at all after 13,000km's, but dust, oh the dust, plenty of friggin dust, sick of the dust, but I'll wear that if I get no squeal or shudder.

that's bad luck Craig %uck all you can do but pay up, I got done recently by a young cop in a blueprint BAXR8 (bloody nice looking car) changing lanes as well, 87 in a 70 zone, just admitted I did it, explained I was changing lanes and gave it a little squirt to keep safe distances and he gave me a warning and told me to keep it under the limit. "Thankyou" then he floored the thing as he drove away, they can be reasonable.
  6. Sounds great, be a bl00dy short cruise for me though!!
  7. I was under the impression that the stuff coats all the engine parts with a few microns of teflon or the like, which is meant to reduce "fisrt start in the morning" wear and tear when all the oil has drained into the sump, the benefits of this would only truly be known say after 250,000ks or something I would think, but if it changes the engine oil properties it could be a bad thing. If it gives the motor an extra 100,000k's though it could be a good thing. I bought an old XC 302 years ago for a bush slugger/work transport the engine was a bit "had it" but I used the teflon crap for"old motors" in it and I got 200'000ks out of it without touching the engine, I sold the engine in the same condition as I bought it for $400 bucks

The turbo I took very easily running in and had no drivetrain issues at all in 27,000k's, power just got better the longer I had it. The GT I followed FPV's recommended procedure as best as you can with an Auto and speed limit restrictions, and although it seemed tight the first 5-8 thousand, since then and giving it some firm runs has seen excellent seat of pants gains in power and response, easily would outrun my stock Xr6t. No issues at all after 12,500k's unless you call the dreaded console hinge noise an issue
  9. Not my cup of tea at all, these BA GT's look superb as they are perhaps with some stripes but that's it otherwise the look is easily spoiled ala DJR 320's bonnet crap

Those nostrils now spoil an otherwise reasonably nice looking car, they botched up the look of the VY clubbies/R8 also with their plastic fantastic try too hard body kit.
  11. Hi Scotty, Warranty is not the only thing, make sure you can get full insurance in writing for the mods you propose prior to having them fitted, it could get ugly if you write off a $150k Merc only to be told your insurance is void due to your car being unroadworthy due to the mods, better to be safe than sorry. I tell all my insurances/companies everything, even in writing and get them to verify they have it in writing, insurance costs heaps, I give them no way to screw me, I've seen people screwed out of payouts over fine print and details, call me overcautious I dont care
  12. They were advertised several times in the past few weeks in the Melb Herald Sun, I think Booran Expensive Daewoo was one of em
  13. that's amazing value. Talk about shafting existing owners. If l were you Aiden, l know what l would be buying! Yeh Simon you'd be pissed if you payed retail a few months back.
  14. VY 2 Clubbies new 285KW, running out for $48,990 plus from what I've seen on TV $4K OF FREE FUEL for all new runout crumodoores, This is excellent value if you can still get one, even if they have the ugliest body kit yet.
  15. Now then Brengun, Then, when things get hasty, there is always tasty........Gretal. Gretal.....the thinking mans ideal horizontal folk dancing partner. Macka glad I'm not the only one thinks Gretel's tasty, scrubs up a treat on the show I never watch

There is a good argument for a projector for evening/night time use or in a room that can be sufficiently darkened, for $2-3k odd you can get a very good picture albeit svga resolution in either DLP or LCD. With cheaper DLP you can get the "rainbow" effect but contrast and general picture quality is very good, with LCD you can get stuck pixels and screen door effect and lower contrast compared to DLP at this price point, colours are stunning though on LCD. What you do get is impact, you get a very good picture up to 100 odd inches with a screen that can disapear into the ceiling and the machine iteslf can retract into the roof if needed and is only the size of a shoebox, lamps are good for around 4000 hrs and are $400-$800 odd to replace. You'll need a STB and the Olympics and sports will look amazing, add a good quality dvd with pscan or and there will be excellent results and boy does xbox feeding in on a component signal look awsome, Rallisport challenge and v8 supercars will blow you away on a 100 inch screen, and Halo is simply stunning, forget Harvey Norman and Megamart, you need to go to home theatre specialists and see these things properly for yourself, A 68CM CRT is plenty for daytime viewing but if you want to get blown away, a projector is woth considering as they have dropped in price to a point where they can be good value compared to plasmas etc. One thing though, a projector is not really the thing for general all round viewing.
  17. Rick, if this GT of mine continues its awsome problem free form its going nowhere, I will keep it, you just cant take it to the snow or out to my bush block, or shooting up NSW that's why we thought about Territory for at least a nanosecond  Cheers Rob
  18. Hi Rob. Get rid of that Red Machine you say SACRALIDGE Now I have a brand new unused never worn discontinued (because of crappy quality) starter button watch hidden in the back of the cupboard accumulating massive value collector value, and I have a question about that baggage and my watch. WANNA SWAP  I hope all is well mate. I'll be over your way again early Sept on the red bird. We gonna have to catch up Hey Rick Cheers mate, I'll keep the luggage and sadly forgo that magnificent watch  Definately like to catch up if you're over again, sounds like Simon is/was over there ATM did you or Al catch up? All's ok over here, if you like freezing ass weather, anyway the other day the wife uses some of Costello's 600 buck vote buying payment to purchase this for me (see photo), sweet thing she is
  19. Update, GT now has 11,500ks and has no issues of any signifigance. Car is stock and has not missed a beat, the last month I have given her what I consider to be some very firm runs, and it seems to be telling me "is that all you've got, you are pissweak"!!! anyway it does seem to have loosened her up a little more and seat of pants says I have 15-20% more than new, this being confirmed by a couple of people who've driven her then and now. This car keeps getting better, Twill be a sad day when/if I ever let her go
  20. Just recieved the free gift airport luggage from FPV, looks very nice, glad I chose this rather than the watch. some pics if anyones interested
  21. I dont know Craig, I just dont know, what I loved about yours was it was kind of like a "sleeper" if you like, apart from the bonnet, it looked like a 14 second stocker, but underneath has a monster lurking capable of shutting down most things on the road especially them crapadoore things, now its not like that anymore.
