Should Gt-p Be More Powerful Than Gt?
Plonky, Stop reading my mind!!!. I agree 100%. Bring back the GS. - affordable version of GT with all the interior / some exterior looks and not as powerful Bring back the FULL option list for GT : Let the buyer choose if they want climate control, CD staker, No radio, leather or not etc. (I think from other Posts U-Geoff has this in mind!) It can not be hard to install climate control in a XT / futura if someone wants to pay for it from factory Ditch the GT-P it is a nucence in there -Let people option a GT to this spec.. Bring back "real" FORD GT stripes. - per Plonky above Bring back black outs on the bonnet. Bring back a FULL cluster of guages. Do not even think about the shaker, some sort of cool air intake somewhere would be the go. Must be functional / effective. The shaker belongs on the XY only.. Bring back a limited run of GT HO - BUT it must be quicker / better than GT. We (Australians) invented what we know and love (XR, XT, XW, XY, XA, XB GT's) dont forget it. We love em and cant get enough. Lets not forget our heritage. That is where our passion is! Yes I have owned Old GT's (XB, XA, XW HO "Windsor") Sorry I sold them realy :tears: So I do have a passion for it. Will I buy a GT, GTP, GTHO in the future. I would love to think so. Time will tell... (read money / wife) my 2c worth.

VY Series 2 (merged topic)
I wondered how long it would be before a post appreared like this. I thought exactly the same thing!. 245kw. Pfft. Bring it on sucker! B) I bet U Geoff is laughing. The boys at broady most likely have the Series 2 bits on the shelf just ready to push the change button. But alast.. They cant make enough of the BA Series 1 so why change when you are on a good thing!! I for one am glad U Geoff stayed where he is rather then go the AFL CEO job.. At last we have a chief boss man at Broady that has what it takes to make the Blue Oval in Oz what it should be!

Checking Out The Enemy
Dave, Good write up ol' son! Esp like foot note 3.. Made me laugh!! I had a VY Aclaim in NZ for a few days. Like chalk and cheese realy. So glad to get back in the BA. I did not like the seats and HATED the cruise control set up (after having Telstar, Forrester, AUII and BA the commie one is so crap!) Sure all cars have their differences. Some better some worse. Would not change from the BA for quids!

It's Here
olcoolone, Glad to hear your car is at the dealer. IMO With all due respect to you and your info source. This is rubbish. Each dealer get allocated a certain number of each model per month (a few months in advance). Once they sell that car then they are forced to wait by ford to the next allocation. So if dealers take orders for 5 XR6T's in one month and they only get given 2 in their allocation they then must wait for the next allocation and put their existing orders against those allocation. The only other way is for them to beg other dealers to swap allcoation with a fairmont or something for example. So you see, it is just nor possible for a dealer to place an order against Ford (as you suggest) and get the car the next month. I would like to suggest that you happen to be lucky and the dealer "had" a allocated car that was not built yet and assigned your order to it.. :spacecraft: I know of a dealer in our NW Melbourne that has one T on the lot and one on oder that have not been sold. So the next lucky guy that walks into that dealer can order a T and get what he wants (within reason)... Hope you enjoy the T (I know you will) and please do not take this as a personal attack as I think you have been taken for a ride.... my 2c worth...

Shootout Xrt/xr8/gt Results
Rob, Cool. Thanks. I will have a look when I get them. I agree re the filter vs no filter. Could be a few things. I think I recall that we were surprised how well it did with low Ks on the clock until we found the filter on the back seat.? After seeing the mod that the Unichip guys did to their air box I am planing on a little mod my self... I plan to cut a hole in the front of the std air box and put a pipe from the hole down under the left head light and then around to the upper grill (just right of the headlight). I plan to leave the existing snorkel in pace so there will be 2 air ducts into the bottom of the std air box with the BMC pannel filter. It may be a wank but I will give it a try... I had a look at the SSinductions air ducts at Autobahn last night and figure I can get more air in the air box for around $60 (metal tube from BMC $50, Plastic mount $10 to screw into the air box and a few cable ties..) than paying $250-$300 for the SSinductions plastic snorkel replacement..

Shootout Xrt/xr8/gt Results
Rob, I think IMTurbo ran his car with no filter..??? I also think that the poor increase in perforamce in my car when testing the different filters was due to the ULP I was running rather than the filter.

Oh The Power Of The Turbo
Chrislak, Nope. The std ones. I have done 11,000km now and no shudder yet. (mainly Hwy driving) We will see how I go in October..

Oh The Power Of The Turbo
Just could not help myself.. I don't know how many of you have actualy pulled anything with your XR6T... I put the 1300kg van on the back of the T over the weekend. (Test drive before the big lap) I had previously towed the same van with the old AUII XR6 VCT and was happy with the performance of it.... Well... This puppy is just a dream. It will happly sit on 100k/h at 2100rpm on the free way siping the fuel at around 16l/100km. (avge) Then if you need / want.. put the foot down and away she goes. (per usual if not loaded with a large mobile brick.) Who needs a Turbo Deisel Landcruser (apart from the obvious 4wd bit) The T has more power, more Torque is lighter and mush nicer to drive.. (flame suit on and ready! B) ) Bring on the Terry with the Turbo I say..

Bmc Filters
Guys, We / I also tested this filter at the Melbourne Dyno day. We did not see any increase in performance over the BMC panel filter. We seemed to see about 1rwkw increase with the BMC one. There could be a number of reasons why my car did not improve (or get the 9rwkw as the Geeelong guys suggest) my main assumption is that I was running ULP on the day and not PULP...?? I ended up just using the BMC Panel and returned the Pod jobbie as pictured. See other posts re this.. Here

Mp3's & Premium Sound
Codsey, It all depends on what media we are talking about. Ken is correct re the MP3 to CD. Just cut them to CDr and away you go. If you have a personal MP3 player then you will need the optional media input plug (it does not matter if you have just Single CD or a car with Premium and Phone) The Media plug is seperate and sits under the Tissue holder near the back. The Media input is about $30 f I recall. It was be a sinch to install yourself. ....

Territory Breaks Cover
Esky, Yeh I know that is wat we have been told.... BUT... I think Ford are mising out on Sales with no V8 in the Wagon. Surely they are looking at the Terry to find a way (hopefully!)

My Premium Sound Stacker Ate My Cd,s
Rainy, Down to the dealer you go.. Or Find the Fuse that runs the Audio system. Pull it and then plug it. See what happens. I had a problem with my stacker in the AUII. The dealer pulled the raido. Removed the power. Plugde it back in and away it went. I think the stacker system behind the dash is the same or similar to the AUII one. Give it a go.

Territory Breaks Cover

Aftermarket Air Filters
IMTurbo, Go for it. A bit too much work for me.. But that's just me.. I do recall seeing pics of a car that someone had done a silmilar job (but not relocating the battery). I think it may have been one of the chip people. Let us know how you go..

Aftermarket Air Filters
IMTurbo, Are you suggesting that you remove the black box on top of the engine where it has the Turbo logo and then pipe the air directly into the Turbo intake? I would think that the black cast box on top of the engine have some advantage (Harasn?) Maybee additional air to the motor intake at high revs?? Atessa, After looking at the XR8 set up it is very similar to the BMC CDAB set up. If the XR8 one is $338 with out the BMC filter I would image it would come cost (once you add the appropriate BMC filter) to be around the same price as the CDAB. At the Dyno day the APC Unichip car had a different set up. They retained the std XR6T air box but cut the lower front out of it and made a fibreglass duct to attach to the front (and block the hole for the std snorkel). The Duct then was directed under the left headlight (like the XR8). I am not sure what filter they were running. (I would image a high flow one of some sort). After seeing this I have been thinking of getting some large bendable duct tube (like they use on race car brake systems) and cut a hole in the front of the lower section of the std air box and then plumb it down nuder the left head light and down near the front of the car but still retain the original snorkel. My theory is that the more air you can get into the air box the more change the engine has to breath... It may be a wank of an idea but it sounds / looks the goods.... If I get around to it I will post pics...
