  3. Cheers Gravelrash, that is good to know
  4. What type of paint did you use on the intake runners, it looks really good in black. I have been planning to do this for a while.
  5. I am having an engine built at the moment - reusing my BA block and crank. I have an FG oil pump is it any better strength wise than the original BA jobby?
  6. Hi Guys, Are the FG oil pumps any better than the earlier models?
  7. have the FG valve springs gotten any better than the BF or old BA springs? Dan
  8. Does anyone know if the FG are using better oil pump components. I was considering using FG to replace my BA mk1 kit.
  9. this may seem daft but how about the timing cover is the FG the same, or similar enough to use. I want to polish it up and replace my BA mk1. I've seen some of the bling in members engine bays and figure I'll give that a crack. Or should I just get it procoated and save time and effort? Dan
  10. thanks guys, the engine is from a NA and the head is rooted at cam journals so is basically a throw away. I'd be interested to see if the FG coils fit the BA wiring or if I could find a way to use my existing coils. Good to know about the engine mounts as well
  11. OK so I have the FG donor engine, and began stripping it all good so far - does anyone know if rocker cover from the FG fit the BA head? I reckon the rocker cover and garnish would look way better than the BA stuff especially when youve replaced the pipes for a nizpro style plenum. Dan
  12. HI Guys, I am looking to build up an engine, looking at a pistons and rods kit from spool, I currently have a BA mk1 running 308 RWKW and can would like to get a FG block to use as a base. Will my sump, head etc from my original engine be compatable with the FG? I've got a pretty tight budget so cant afford mega dollar options. good advice needed Cheers Dan
  13. well what do you know $380 later and all it was, was two pins in the ICC bent and shorting. Straightened them and everything is working correctly. An expensive and time consuming mistake but all in all not a bad outcome. No damage to the ICC, or BEM - whew
  14. No Joys, the fuses are all fine and I swapped out the relays but problem still there
  15. Cheers Seventytwo, I'll check those out, I have it booked at Ford on Wednesday, so if all else fails.
  16. Hi Guys, I recently had the ICC out to paint it piano black, any way like a goose I missed one of the plugs when refitting and I powered the car up and found out I had no wipers and no screen wash. I have pulled the ICC and connected the plug and repowered the car still no wipers. Everything else works fine. I guess a trip to Fraud is in order but it cant hurt to ask if any of you BEM ICC gurus know of a way to fix this. Cheers
  17. How'd you go mate. I remembar being a bit in the dark doing this mod myself a few years ago. Trying to get the original fuel pump out of the swirl pot freaked me out as it was stuck so tight then bang it came apart, I was worried I'd busted it. I reused the Ford filter after a thorough clean and had to trim a couple of tabs off the bottom of the pump to have it sit more flush with the bottom of the swirl pot. A good mod and useful to know theres a little more headroom in the fuel department now. Dan
  18. how do you get the clam lock nut off?
  19. I think the GT has staggered wheels as well, wider on the back. My car has 9.5" 19s with a 35 offset on the front and it has been challenging to get it to ride without catching the guards and hitting the suspension on the inside as its pretty low. Dan
  20. based on the offsets the 28.5 mm will have 7mm more inside clearance and extend 7mm out further toward the guard. Use the offset calculator below, its really useful http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
  21. short answer TT fronts don't fit
  22. I wouldn't spend the money on a Nizpro or Process West plenum but if you made something yourself it could be done for a reasonable price and still look and perform well
  23. A weird thing - the NA territory brakes which are the same as the BF turbo front brake dont fit my car either. I'm starting to think the front spindles are off an earlier falcon perhaps an AU1. There are a couple of kits on ebay that are supposed to be bolt that are exactly the same and fi the BA. FTG sell the 322x28 which is the same. My car is a BA MK1 from October 2003? I was told it had been in a minor bender and had panel damage but maybe they had to replace the front spindles. Oh well a trip to the wreckers should solve that - maybe the big 340x32 off the turbo terri should have fit. The rear vented rotors and larger calipers fit a treat and when it's all bled I cant wait to see how much better it stops - it sure looks a heap better
  24. simple answer yes it is an easy swap - you need the calipers and rotors
  25. Ive had heavy creaking from my front end for over 12 months now which ford cat fix. I think it might be the swaybars but it only EVER does it in the wet, never the dry. every bump, speed hump and driveway creaks to sh!t each time its wet. I had the same thing, I took the sway bar bushes off opened them up and greased them put them back on problem solved
